Hi, I'm buying Asus PRIME X299-DELUXE and I'd like to know what is the best and fast RAM for Asus PRIME X299-DELUXE motherboard. I have i9 7940X processor. I need 32GB RAM. Can you suggest the best brand and how many modules are good for me? I am not a gamer but I make videoediting. Thanks

The Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) 3000MHz memory kit works fine for me if that's the speed you're looking for.

I'm sorry my inexperience. Why are you suggesting 3000MHz modules if my Asus PRIME X299-DELUXE suggest DDR4 2666 MHz? I will not overclock my CPU.
Thanks again one.

You asked for what the "best and fastest" was. If not looking to overclock the CPU or memory, then the question is moot. Any 2666 4x8GB kit will suit your needs. DDR4 2666 is the maximum supported frequency by Intel. Anything beyond this is deemed as overclocking.

2666 is the officially supported speed for the platform. However it is common for memory to operate above this stock frequency...XMP profiles. Technically XMP profiles are "overclocking" the memory. This has nothing to do with overclocking the processor.

You asked for the best and fast RAM so naturally people assume above the 2666 base frequency.

Generally looking at the rated timings for the kit will tell you which is quicker. If you want to stick to 2666 look for tighter timings...e.g. 15-15-15-35 is lower(faster timings) than say a 16-18-18-35.

I would rate G.Skill to be the best RAM supplier

You can use their RAM configurator to get a list of kits for your platform. https://www.gskill.com/en/configurator

Just remember to buy a single quad channel kit. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?57038-Don%92t-combine-memory-kits!-The-meat-and-potatoes-o...

You're such an expert on the RAM, please, help me more!! I'm not experienced unlike you. I attach you a link where you can see all the RAM modules I can use with my Asus Prime X299 Deluxe: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tkcgywqeussj8bf/RAM.pdf?dl=0
I downoaded it from Asus website. I Hope you can give me a more precise info about the RAM modules I have to use to get the best work in my videoediting not too much. 😉
I thank you a lot!!

PS: From your link I see those modules: https://www.gskill.com/en/configurator?manu=29&chip=3030&model=3033
I'd like to buy those modules in Amazon or eBay.

Technically, it does.

Yeah...yeah... well...if you want to get technical...:o

If that is directed at me...as you can see from the above that's not quite true but I've been playing long enough to make an educated guess 😮

What size kit do you want or need for your work.

I would suggest at 3200MHz kit would work well at the 16 or better 32GB size. RipjawsV or TridentZ

These kits fastest

Similar but a bit slower

You can't imagine how much I am happy for your help. Now I attach my hardware:
CPU: i9 7940X
Motherboard: Asus PRIME X299-DELUXE
Videocard: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti
SSD Drive: (C) 500GB SSD Samsung 960 Pro PCIe M.2 (for Windows 10) and (E) SSD 1TB Samsung 960 Pro PCIe M.2 NVMe for videoediting and (D) 2TB Samsung 850 SSD SATA III for exporting (momentary storage)
Cooling system: Corsair H150i 360mm cooler
Memory (RAM): ................ (4 modules 8GB each )
Power supply: Corsair CP-9020093-EU Serie RMx Alimentatore ATX/EPS da 850 Watt
Is everything ok with your modules suggestions about Power Supply too?
Can you give me also another option with DDR4 2666Mhz modules please?
THANKS, THANKS, THANKS

PS: did you suggest 3200MHz for my modules, now I'd like to know if there is a more deterioration (even is little) of some hardware component with that overclocking of 3200MHz instead of 2666Mhz.

For 2666

https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-2666c15q-32gvr

The deterioration question is difficult to answer.

In practical terms for the expected life of the system I would say no...but since I got in trouble once for simplifying the answer is yes.
Higher voltage/current beans less life for electrical components so a kit that runs at 1.2v in theory will last longer than one running at 1.35v (given same manufacturing quality etc etc)

but like I say....I'm sure that practically 2666 or 3200...not really much difference

Indubitably!

I thank you a lot for your availability. I didn't think there were such kind and professional people here.
