Hi I got 2 of this babies to watercool and wondering what choice of waterblock brands I have. As far as I know I only found the ek ones compatible but I don't really like the look. Anyone out there knows whether other brands of waterblock will fit this card? Thanks

since this is custom made cards by asus there is not menny that is manufactoring the blocks.
so only EK is the one that makes it that i can find.

That's a bummer. Was hoping if the heatkiller or aquacomputer ones would fit

it have to be DCII to fit the cards.
its not stock cards since asus have changed some parts on it then the stock cards dont have.

You won't see the waterblock since it is facing down ( i never understood this, if you make a card look all pretty then atleast put it the other way up!)
I would go with the EK since they are very high quality.

I went with the EK blocks and I'm not sorry about it... 🙂 They're cooling good and that's enough for me!

But Dinnr may be right, in most cases you wouldn't see too much of the blocks anyway...

Does the backplate still allow for the VGA hotwire feature or does it cover it up?

Yes, for both questions! The EK backplate will cover the hotwire area, but you can do the hotwiring first, then mount the backplate... 🙂
