Asus Formula V + High Profile Ram = ???? Air CPU Cooler.

So, I am having bit of an issue finding which air cooling system to get with the Ram being high profile Corsair Vengeance I was aimed towards the Coolermaster V8 but I cant find anyone who has it that can verify that it wont effect the black DIMM slot closest to Processor.

If it comes down to it, I can probably figure out a way to bust the heat fins as they seem to be plastic cosmetic pieces only.

Sidenote: I do not plan to overclock, just something that'll be stable for high ambient temps i.e. 100F

Thanks ROG Community for help in advance.

Post Hyper 212 EVO

First and foremost much cooler temps, idle and load.

A 120mm push fan would not fit over the high profile Corsair Vengeance Ram properly so unless you have modding experience I wouldn't try it.

Biggest regret of current build, buying high profile ram.

Thank you for your suggestion although I am looking for advice about air not closed-loop liquid cooling.

I doubt that the Vengeance's heat spreaders would be plastic... plastic is known to be a very bad heat conductive...

Do you already have the Vengeances? You could get Dominators instead and remove the heat spreaders... or get low profile Vengeances...

If you already have the Vengeance kit, it is a dual module kit or has four modules? If it's a dual module, you should install it in the red slots...
Check this (post #7): http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?3408-ASUS-Crosshair-V-Formula-Review

Or, you could check the Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212... you can place the fan a little bit higher if you need too...

Unfortunately I did purchase the Ram in March earlier this year, they are a quad kit, ** Amazon Item Link ** I do believe they are dual module but I would much rather having the extra sticks in and finding an alternative cooler, I will read up on the Hyper Evo 212.

Thank you for your suggestion.

So, my Hyper Evo 212 arrived today and I was pondering which way to face the fan as I have to have it on the left side because of my High Profile Ram.

Option A) Have the air flow away from heatsink (Pull) exhausting the heat towards the 2 rear 120mm fans.

Option B) Have the air flow toward the heatsink (Push) exhausting the air toward front of case, hoping it would move towards top 200mm

Will Option A have any performance decreases? Do you need a push fan on a CPU Heatsink or does pull work just as well?
