As long as the BIOS is updated, and the cpu is a compatible socket, which is AM3+, you should have no problem with CPU's

I got my CHVF and the FX-8150 and had no problems, booted up first time! Just make sure you get a big enough power supply to power your build.

Good luck on the build!

I can support what Homie has said above. I also run a Crosshair V Formula with a FX-8150 and it runs like a charm no issues at all.

One little help would be...If in doubt look at the Serial Number next to the BIG 24pin Power connector and the last 4 digits are your BIOS revision and as long as your revision number is Higher than 0705 then your good to go with even the FX CPU's. There are still some boards with 0705 and lower that will need an older AM3 CPU to boot first and flash the BIOS before you can install an FX. the BIOS for the FX line starts at 0813 all the way up to 1402. I would be careful with 1402 for now because there has been reports of instability and one person stated that it Bricked his BIOS.

Ok well after looking at the code near my 24 pin its a 08 so all look's good Glad i got a Amd Mb as i7 chips for intel cost a bomb to fx chips what i can buy at 150+ 🙂 as for graf card mite use my old one in sli mode seems there ok cards ish

I can confirm what wolverine7074 saying, I got my CHV and Fx-8150 chip 2 weeks ago, and sadly my pc could not boot with the chip after using nifty old google I found out that i need to update my BIOS. Got a chip from my friend the Athlon™ II(AM3 chip) but you can use the Phenom™ II or Sempron™ 100 Series Cpu's to update my bios. I updated my bios with version 1301 shutdown my pc and pop my fx-8150 in, Booted without any problem:cool:
