Hi all,
First post here,
I've just upgraded my motherboard from an ASUS B660-Plus-D4 which was basic but worked fine to a ROG Z790-F in order to better accommodate my 14900k. Prior to the upgrade my NZXT Kraken 240 cooler (which is basically brand new it's self) was working without issue. Since swapping out the motherboard the cooler is now completely dead. I've systematically swapped all the connections checked and double checked QFAN settings - the Z790 doesn't even recognise anything as being connected to whatever fan / pump header the Kraken is connected to, and it doesn't show up via USB in Windows.
This leads me to my question - does anyone know of any sort of issues with compatibility between these two units? I accept it's totally possible that the Kraken has 'just died' and I'm almost certain the issue lies with the cooler but thought I'd reach out to see if there was some magic setting or something which needs to be set on this motherboard in order for an AIO such as this to work. As a last ditch attempt I'm going to upgrade the BIOS on the Z790 tomorrow to see if that makes a difference but failing that I'll get the Kraken RMA'd. How annoying! Other than this issue everything is working nicely, PC posted first time after the motherboard upgrade and looking forward to getting to grips with my new system (once I've got a working cooler 🙄).
Thanks in advance!
