Look everyone has their own reason for buying the board. For some it is the sheer joy of having 1001 different tweaking options, others it is the bling aspect. Me, I use the product because right now it is the best motherboard for clocking the LGA 2011 CPU's and provides me as a bencher with the best platform. If there was a better motherboard I would use it. I am not sponsored by ASUS so I can use what ever I like.
As a bencher you overclock, and there you certainly see the difference between a standard or stock system and a hectic over clocked system. In the real world, the gains are not so clear cut, folders will see a difference, gamers will see some difference dependant on the game they play. Media design types will have improved render times. BUT we are talking reletive to stock here. Mind shatteringly quicker, no. Most of the time the normal stuff we do with a PC is not worth the effort. My 24/7 system for example is always stock.
With a ROG board the choice is yours, and because it is the best that can be made you have the confidence to know if you do decide to overclock it can and will do the job. Always assuming the other bits are up to the task of course. And that is a big thing, a PC is not just the motherboard, or just the CPU, no it is all the bits that make up the complete system and how they work together. ROG boards allow the users to better manage those differences better if they so desire.
