Hello, my PC has an old Asus PRIME X299-DELUXE. Can you satisfy my curiosity, since I'm having a small problem with my 7 years old PC's startup? First of all, I have to say that my PC was working well and now it is also working well.......But after replacing the GEFORCE GTX 1080 Ti graphics card with the PNY GEFORCE RTX 5070 12GB Triple Fan DLSS 4 graphics card, I always have to restart my PC twice to see the desktop. The first time it seems the operating system (Win 10) doesn't load. Then, if I turn it on a second time, everything works fine. I've also noticed this: if I follow this procedure: I don't turn on the monitor, but only the PC, then when the operating system loads, I turn on the monitor and everything is fine. This way I no longer need to turn on the PC twice.
In other words: if I turn on my PC and monitor at the same time, as I always do, but the monitor isn't receiving any signal and turns off after a few seconds. I wait a few more seconds for the computer to finish its run and then immediately restart the PC by pressing the "Restart" button. Then I turn on the monitor again, and from that point on, the PC boots normally and the desktop appears.
Therefore I did a BIOS update, but it didn't solve my problem.I inform the new graphics card came with a split cable that was only 20 cm long. So I connected that cable to the one already in the PC. In other words, I didn't remove the old cable. Could this be the problem? What do you think the problem might be? Can I fix it? Thanks.

Hi @FoxAdriano
Sounds like a hand-off issue. You may want to try both HDMI and DP to see if the behaviour is the same. Check the PNY website for any newer VBIOS revisions

I'm sorry, but I'm no expert, even though I installed the graphics card myself. I don't understand. Could you explain in more detail what you mean by HDMI or DP? I don't understand.

EDIT: I FINALLY solved my problem: it seems incredible!! I turned the monitor toward me, then unplugged the cable to the video card, and then plugged it back in. I had some difficulty unplugging the cable; it seemed stuck. I've had the monitor for about 5 years. Maybe there was some rust? NOW EVERYTHING WORKS FINE. I'd like to ask a question: do you think it would be better (with the PC off) to unplug the cable and spray something on the connections to improve the contacts, or is it better not to touch anything?
