Advice on gaming sound

I've decided to build a compact gaming pc using Mini ITX form factor.
Its still in the planning stage and im looking around for the parts.

I was also doing some research on headset/headphone and it seems like to have a good sound experience I need some upgrade from just an onboard sound, which then lead me to Maximus VI Impact.
If im correct mini itx doesnt have enough slots to add a sound card...

Im thinking to get either PC350 or PC360 after trying them on.
Main usage will be fps games.
USB soundcard/DAC will be nice as i would be able to use it on my laptop until i get to build my pc, but have no clue on its surround sound quality and latancy compared to SupremeFX Impact.

My questions is, how is the SupremeFX Impact compared to those usb dongle? concerns on either choises will be the surround sound capability and audio lag (especially for usb).

Any suggestions are appreciated.

The sennheiser headphones are a good choice and yes you would need a dac like maybe the asus essence one far better than any onboard sound.
