um yes, im sorry to say but i just seen some thing.
the memory, get ONE kit whit the amount of ram you need, not 2 kits ( 1 kit = 2x8gig ram chips )
and it have to be quad ( 4 ) channel ones.

There's no such thing as quad channel ram. The memory controller is quad channel. You just use regular RAM kits.

Sorry, mate, but there is such thing as "quad channel kit"... it means at least 4 modules binned/specially selected to work together at the given specs... Mixing two dual channel kits isn't always the best choice... specially not with LGA2011...

If you want a workstation, then forget the RIVBE... I would even forget the Sabertooth and get something specifically built for WS (Asus does have such boards). For those application the OP described, the system has to have as much memory as possible and also SSD(s)...

hi, what kkn is saying is, for x79 chipset, you are required to run quad channel memory

when you visit these ram site's, ie, gskill-corsair, they have like a ram config...... where you choose
your memory to suit you motherboard, I think the xtreme is better, but that only my opinion... I curently
have the x79 formular and have been very happy, and am in the process of upgrading to the x79 black edition,
i have been running gskill 2133 mhz 16gb ram so far ( 4x4 sticks) and they have been very good, looking at getting the
CMD32GX3M4A2400C10 32GB for my new build, hope my post helps a little and good luck 🙂

Agreed with Z above me, a great WS board, 2011 Socket would be the P9X79-E WS. I'm hoping to buy one for myself this year 😄
