Hello everyone! I am planning on building an eyefinity set-up in crossfire(2) with ASUS Radeon HD 7970 (VD-HD7970-DC2T-3GD5) 3072MB PCIe x16 Gen 3.0 Eyefinity 6 Edition but doesnt know if my current build is powerful enough to handle it.

CPU: Intel i7 Ivy Bridge 3770k
MOBO: Maximus IV Extreme Z
RAM: Ripsaw 16g at 1600
PSU: Thermaltake 875W Toughpower TX
CPU Heatsink: Antec Khuler 620
HDD: I forgot lol sorry xD

I am currently using Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 as my case what bothers me is the thickness of the gpu.
any advice guys?

Thanks in advance! 😄

Welcome Xybergeimer

Personally I would get me a more stronger PSU.
Board: Crosshair V Formula
CPU: AMD FX-8150 4.74Ghz (19.5*242 1.44V)
RAM: G.Skill 2133 8GB Running @ 1133.2MHz 10-11-10 (1.6V)
PSU: Corsair AX850
GPU: Ati 7950
OS: SSD OCz Agility 3 120GB (Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate)
Cooling: Antec H20 620
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced

Thanks OctBeast.

I might and not a problem. just wondering if building a 2 7970 in my current build will produce more heat since the two cards will be next to each other.

Xybergeimer 2*7970 will generate more heat in ur case that's for sure but don't worry nothing will fry, what case do you have?

Thermaltake Chaser MK-1

You got a full case with some nice air flow in it, I wount be to worried about the heat of the 2*7970, but get u a bigger psu. Ur current psu will run the 2 cards bt like i said get u a stronger psu.

Enjoy ur gaming with ur eyefinity setup Xybergeimer 🙂

Definitely, two of those beasts will produce more heat - and that heat will mostly remain in your case as those cards are exhausting mainly on their side... and that heat will rise toward the top of the case...

The question is where your CPU cooler's radiator is mounted and what's the airflow direction through it? If it sucks the hot air produced by the VGAs (exhausts from the case), it may not work efficiently... But, you can invert the fans for intake...
