7770 Crossfire or upgrade?

I currently have a Sapphire 7770 and I am not getting the performance I would like out of it. So I was thinking I could crossfire it or wait a while and get a 7950. So use wise I am getting 3 monitors in the near future so eyefinity with performance is a huge factor. So I need to know if the 7770 crossfire would scale up to it for the 200$ less Id spend on it?

Go for the upgrade. But save a little more for the HD7970. You'll need a HD7970 Trifire setup if you want to be able to game on 5760x1200 and be able to max out all the eye candy. If eye candy isn't a must for you, you could get by with a HD7970 Crossfire setup.

Well on my brothers pc he has a 6950 and he maxes bf3 across three monitors with his core 2 duo and 6950 I think your exaggerating a bit.

Excuse my poor chioce of words in the following sentence.

Your brother is making up stuff, there is no way your brother is playing bf 3 with everything on ultra etc with a core 2 duo and 6950 at 5760x1080, no way.

Seen it with my own eyes aa off. Dont insult me or my family please that is not accepted here and admins will deal with it as such. Cards watercooled and overclocked. Ooops there is also a my bad on my part it is crossfired guess that is some useful info just looked in his case. dont know when this happened cars a bit dusty must have been a while

@SKOONJar, I do not believe that @CraZeeY is insulting your brother. I think it is more likely that he is trying to make a statement about your brother's statement, which does seem to be a little far fetched.

@CraZeey, I don't think that your statement is the best way of making your point, since it could be mistaken as a personal attack.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

No insults intended, hence "excuse me for my poor choice of words".

If it's crossfired it's a whole other story. I retract my previous statement.
I still think that the better option in Your case is to save up. The 7970's has dropped so much in prize it's unreal. They perform really well and I'm sure you will be more than satisfied.

Im on a very tight budget but is the extra 100usd worth it?

Would say yes. Running one strong gpu is alot better and more stable than running two low-mid end gpus and you'll also have the option to crossfire the 7970 down the road for even better performance, when your funds allow it.
