I have some bits worked out and would like some help with the following:

What speed ram should I be aiming for in an overclocked gaming rig? I was thinking 2x16GB at 1800mhz or wil haswell benefit from a little more.
What's the estimated price on a Poseidon? And what other cards should I be considering, ideally Asus, general gaming on mid to high setting in the region of £300?

Thanks for the help so far I'm very greatful

For RAM, if you can go with 16GB only at say 1866-2400MHz you will be more than enough, i heard many said that 32GB is overkill for gaming.

About a card i think you mean video card? Well, look at those new cards GTX 770 and GTX 780 and give one of them a try, they are promising, if the budget doesn't allow maybe 680 2GB could be a solution.

8GB is plenty for Gaming, 16GB is apparently the sweet spot...just get a 1600 kit, you won't even notice the difference between 1600 and even 2666. Poseidon hasn't been officially announced, so nobody can quote a price yet sorry.

Ram speed is all about your IMC of your CPU. What your practicle upper limit will be is a combination of the memory sticks ability to be clocked, and your CPU's ability to clock.

I would agree that 16GB in total is the sweet spot for a gaming system. Frequency is pretty much icing, buy 2133 or 2400 rated kits and see what your system can do OC those memories. The gains brought about by higher rated frequency kits are not worth the extra expense in my view.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
