2025 Zephyrus G16 (GU605CW) BIOS v310 fails to install

My MyASUS app shows there is a BIOS v310 update.  The ASUS website only has v306 available.  I attempted to install the BIOS update through the MyASUS app and it says "Your computer needs to reboot to finish installing updates" so I reboot.  Then I get to the BIOS update screen and it says "Selected file is not a proper BIOS".  I tried to do a cloud update and it says I am on the latest version (v306).  Then when I click exit it boots back to Windows and says "Your computer needs to reboot to finish installing updates" again.  It's a neverending cycle.

I was able to break the cycle by downloading from the website the current latest version (v306) which is what I already have, and install it.  That will break the cycle, but the next time I open MyASUS it will install the update and put me back in this loop.  I'm unable to download v310 from the website, it only shows up in the MyASUS app.

Does anyone have a fix for this?  How long does it usually lag between the BIOS being available in MyASUS app and then showing up on the website so I can download the .exe file?  I even tried deleting all my %temp% and c:/windows/temp files, ran Disk Cleanup, uninstalled MyASUS and reinstalled thinking maybe there was a corrupted download but every time this happens.  So, I'd love some help getting v310 installed successfully.  Thank you!

SOLVED:  I had to turn secure boot off, boot up, install with myASUS app, reboot into the installer and let it install, then re-enable secure boot.  All worked.  I got my info from https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1047551/ which is for a different model but had the same error.  I didn't delete / reset my keys like mentioned later to prevent this from happening again (I dual boot Linux, didn't want to delete my keys for that OS).  But, simply disabling it and everything worked.

I have the same laptop. I used MyASUS to install the BIOS update v310 (which does not appear on the website.) It seemed to go into a boot loop for a few minutes but I was patient, and eventually it booted into Windows. v310 BIOS is installed. I’m testing to see if the stutters during YouTube playback are gone, so far so good but I’m not 100% sure.

Did your BIOS screen say “Selected file is not a proper BIOS”?

No, it updated properly without errors, followed by a few cycles of boot loop before finally booting into Windows. Opening the BIOS confirms v310. My laptop is a G16 GU605CW. In your case it may be downloading the BIOS for a different model than yours... hopefully ASUS will add the BIOS to their website so you can manually install it instead of relying on the MyASUS malware.

Good! Please report back if you had stuttering issues which are now resolved with this BIOS.
