Severe Performance Issues on My ROG Ally Z1 Extreme

Good morning,

I’m experiencing serious performance issues with my ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. The FPS in the games I’m testing is significantly lower than what other users are achieving, even on minimum settings.

Symptoms:

1.Games running at a maximum of 20 FPS, while they should be at 60+;

2.The GPU doesn’t seem to be functioning properly;

3.Temperatures reaching over 90°C in 15W mode, and immediately rising to 97°C in 25W mode.

Solutions already tested:

1.Updated all drivers to the latest version, updated Windows, and updated the BIOS;

2.Disabled and re-enabled the GPU in Device Manager;

3.Adjusted the fan curves.

None of these actions seem to have any effect.

What else can I do?

Have you tried performing a system reinstall using Cloud Recovery and testing the system with only the ASUS-verified driver versions to check if the issue is caused by system compatibility?

If the issue persists after Cloud Recovery, and given the continued high-temperature conditions you mentioned, we recommend that you bring the device to a local service center for further inspection to identify the root cause. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

Good morning, yes, I tried doing that, but it didn’t change anything. I’m trying to contact ASUS Support for a possible repair . I’m really disappointed with the ASUS because I bought the product in the U.S. and they refuse to check the product here in Brazil. It’s frustrating that I can’t use the product’s warranty due to the bureaucracy of a global company.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Regarding warranty, ASUS provides international warranty support for some products, while others are covered only by local warranties in the purchasing region.

Dealers should inform customers whether a device is covered by a local or international warranty at the time of sale. If the product falls under a local warranty, repair services must be obtained locally. We recommend sending the product to a warranty-covered area within the warranty period, where the service team can assist you further with the RMA process.
