Rog ally +xg mobile 6850m. Force restart after connect to HDMI monitor

Inheart

Hi everyone.

I recently purchased an xg mobile 6850m to use with rog ally.  When using it, i've encountered an issue: My rog ally sometimes will force restart when connect to the xg mobile 6850m. after some investigation, i found that if i connect an external monitor (HDMI) through xg mobile. This restart will sometime occur.  If i don't use an external monitor, it will work just fine. i've tried different HDMI cables but that didnt help. I also reinstalled the drivers using DDU but the problem persists.

i tried to turn off my monitor during the xg mobile connection. The initial connection is fine and my ally recognized the egpu. but the moment i turn on the monitor. the screen will turn black and rog bootup log will appear and restart.

i also notice this is more likely happen if i disconnect the xg mobile overnight and reinitiate the connect next morning.

Does anyone encounter similar issue?

Please ensure that the system version, BIOS version, and OS build of your ALLY are all updated to the latest versions. Also, please check if the driver used for the XG Mobile is the one provided on our website. If you are not using the driver from our website, please reinstall it with the driver provided by us and then check if the issue still occurs.
