Hello,
A few months ago, I made a post here where I explained that the speakers on my Ally X had suddenly stopped working (no startup jingle during bootup sequence, and no sound on Windows), but that then a few days later, they randomly started working again.
Well unfortunately as of yesterday the speakers stopped working again, alongside a brand new problem: my Ally X is now unable to restart or shut down on its own, without me having to force it to off by pressing the power button.
Basically, whenever I tap the Shut Down or Restart option on Windows, the OS seems to shut down (the screen goes black), but the device itself doesn't (the RGB lights around the sticks remain lit, and so does the power indicator on top).
I hadn't done anything mayor with the device, a few days before I used it I installed an ArmouryCrate update, but honestly I doubt this has anything to do with it.
I've attempted a complete ASUS Cloud Recovery two times, and on both times it got stuck on the step of "Installing AMD_Chipset_DriverOnly_ROG" (apparently another known issue). Which led me to force restart the device in order to enter the Windows setup. Even after this however, restarting was still not functioning, and any time my device needed to restart during the Windows installation I had to manually turn it off and on with the power button.
During those attempts, I noticed that the speakers would function again during some startups of Windows (the startup jingle would play, and Windows would have sound), but then after force turning it on and off for installing an update, the sound would be gone again. And even then, the restarting issue never disappeared either after doing all the updates.
As a last resort, I decided to ditch ASUS Cloud Recovery and made my own Windows 11 installation with a USB drive via Rufus. Unfortunately, after doing everything again the sound and shutdown/restarting issues still persisted. Even after fully updating Windows 11, the MyAsus app, and the ArmouryCrate app from a fresh installation.
With all of that said, I've just completely given up on Windows and currently attempting to install Bazzite to see if it solves anything. Any suggestions as to how to fix any of these issues?
