ROG Ally wired keyboard input delay when gaming - solved?

ROG ally has an issue with wired keyboard having input delay when gaming. I am using  a K70 PRO MINI WIRELESS RGB Keyboard with the USB-C cable on a LISEN docking station. I used the ROG ally charger included in box and then a UGreen 140w to see if it was a power delivery problem but problem persisted. The game where I encountered the problem was on Halo 3 (MCC), anytime a single enemy appeared the keyboard had input delay from 1 to 5 seconds of delay. Weird thing is that it only happened when I see enemies, there could be 20 allies and no input delay occurs. A single enemy causes input delay on a wired keyboard. I searched online to find a solution and found that armoury crate was to blame. I then kill all tasks from armoury crate with task manager and the issue is gone. I hope this issue is fixed soon so I don't have to end tasks everytime I want to play on keyboard, it breaks the Asus Command Center menu everytime I do it.

Hi All,

Our latest release of ACSE (v1.3.15) has been rolled out on 9/27. It fixes an issue where using an external keyboard would cause input delay during gaming. We kindly ask everyone to update and test the new version. Your valuable feedback is greatly appreciated as we strive to enhance your user experience. Thank you for your support!

Hi @XxYoshixX100 ,

I would like to confirm your current BIOS version. Have you tested uninstalling Armoury Crate and the game, then reinstalling them to check if the issue persists?
Apart from the keyboard delay issue in Halo 3, are there any other software or games where you are experiencing abnormal behavior?
Additionally, does the keyboard delay issue occur when directly connected without using the dock? Thank you.

I tried all of the above and nothing worked. I was on BIOS 322 when I noticed it and now updated to 323 and it still continues to lag. I didn't notice it in other games yet but I heard from others that it happened on dota 2 for them.

Issue: When using the latest version of Armoury Crate (possibly affecting other versions too), there is a noticeable problem with character movement in games. The problem occurs when holding a keyboard button (e.g., WASD for movement) and tapping the left mouse button to shoot. If you release the keyboard button while still tapping the mouse button, your character continues to move for a few seconds, sometimes lasting 2-3 seconds.

Expected Behavior: Character movement should stop immediately after releasing the keyboard button.

Troubleshooting Attempts: I have performed factory resets multiple times and tried different keyboards and mice (currently using Logitech MX series). The issue persists regardless of the input device. Additionally, I have tried updating Armoury Crate, uninstalling it, disabling the embedded controller with Command Center, but none of these attempts have resolved the problem.

Temporary Solutions: The only ways to resolve the issue temporarily are to either disable ArmouryCrateSEService or refrain from upgrading Armoury Crate entirely. I found that using an older, un-updated version (1.2.6.0) eliminates the mouse and keyboard delay issue.

Additional Information: I plan to update the post with a log, but the process of updating Armoury Crate and then restoring the system is cumbersome for a bug that is easy to reproduce. Let me know if I can be of any assistance in getting this bug resolved.

Edit: Also I was on bios 322 just upgraded to 323 and the issue remains.

I have this same exact issue with character movement in games. I noticed this the other day when I was playing that when aiming or shooting while moving, my character would continue to move for 2-3 seconds. This issue isn't limited to just games though, as I was able to reproduce the issue in an online mouse and keyboard tester (Here's the link for what I used: Online Keyboard & Mouse Tester | Helvetica Forever). When pressing or holding a key and then clicking a mouse button, the key will either continue to be held for a certain duration or sometimes randomly be pressed again on its own if I continue to click my mouse.

Hi @XxYoshixX100 、 @apoorvtintin ,
Thank you for your response.
Regarding this issue, could you please assist in enabling the LOG recording function in Armory Crate and demonstrate the problem again (if possible, please record a video of the issue)?
Please provide the following information via private message, and I will forward it to the relevant team to investigate this matter and hopefully resolve troubles you are facing. Thank you.

SN:
BIOS version: 323
Is a DOCK being used:
Keyboard brand being used:
Armory Crate version:
Armory Crate log file:

【Here is the file path for the log file for your reference】
In Armoury Crate "Settings" and check "About" page, If clicking App Diagnostics "Record Log", the Privacy Policy Statement will pop out. Once user agreed statement, the Armoury Crate will start to collect problem log and you can click "Generate log data" to generate the log file with encrypted (ASUS log file).

I sent the details and it seems it happened when I was shooting all along. That explains why it was only when I saw enemies.

BIOS version: 323
Is a DOCK being used: Yes and No
Keyboard brand being used: Lenovo keyboard(wired) & Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard(wireless)
Armory Crate version: 3.2.7.2

Have done extensive test with wireless keyboard (with and without dock) and wired keyboard via dock. both experience the input lag.

since uninstalling armory crate, no input lag on both wired and wireless.

This was happening as well and thanks to this forum it solved my issue. One thing i did was go into the Windows Services and Stop the Armory Crate Service for the games that have issues rather than uninstalling. Asus, please fix! I thought my Mobile XG or Ally was defective. We were losing our minds especially when playing MCC in LAN and having this issue.
