ROG Ally SD Card Reader Not In Devices

The SD Card Reader Hardware isn't even showing up in my devices list when trying to look into updating/reinstalling drivers.  I just bought a microsd card today to try and add storage for more games, and come to see that on my Ally it seems the hardware isn't even connected/showing up at all.  Help.

In that case, can you send me any correspondence you've sent as well as replies. Have you started a thread in the service section here?

I notice in the other thread you've said they've told you "too bad", and won't fix it, so you have received a response. Are you able to send me this, please?

That's the problem. I have no correspondence, I sent the email to get it RMAed through the website and have got nothing back. And when I try to select the region for United States there's no selection for it in the giant list of countries the only thing I could select was the UK.

Can you pm me with the email details you sent? Should be able to get the ball rolling for you. As you're from the US, the correct contact information is in the official statement regarding the SD malfunction.

Good evening everyone. HQ has released a new statement regarding their work on the Ally's SD card reader: We want to thank the community for the passionate response we've received for the ROG Ally. Your support has been both immense and invaluable, so we've been hard at work to improve a number of things. After confirmation from internal testing, under certain thermal stress conditions the SD card reader may malfunction. To alleviate the issue, we will be releasing an update that further fine-tunes the default and minimum fan speeds on the device to improve reliability while keeping fan noise in check, as we know this is a concern for many of you. If you are currently experiencing issues with your SD card reader, please contact cl-adrian@asus.com (US) or contact customer service for your region to RMA your unit, which we will inspect for any issues and repair.

One week later an still no word. They don't care and are not going to help.

Two weeks later still no reply..... They're not going to help anybody, they're just sweeping me under the rug. Asus doesn't care, they're never going to fix it.

Seems likely. This is the usual behaviour that happens when it breaks. I think the temps get to high at the reader even without an sd card. Don't understand why they constructed it this way.

And still no solution from Asus. RMA team in Germany doesn't seem to be aware of this issue at all. Just ridiculous.

Asus is replacing the motherboard and adding a copper heatsink (?) on some of the RMA Allys.  Shouldn’t a heatsink be added to the cpu as it is a major source of heat to prevent a second RMA after motherboard replacement?

I am facing same issue the sd card is not detected by my device.

You came to the wrong place they're not going to help you.

Well over a month and Asus still hasn't responded to me. Only they people in the forum responded with lip service.  They said they would move the case up and I should get an email. Nothing.  Even if it gets RMA ppl are saying they can't fix it. So Asus just stole $700 from us.
