I got my Ally on day one and it constantly freezes after about 5 minutes of use. I can’t use cloud recovery cause that freezes too while downloading files at about 6%. The SD card slot stopped working all together as well. Any ideas?

I've done a very long post on this, it needs to go back for a repair if the card reader is important to you. There have been firmware updates to alleviate this, but it seems to be a heating issue.
Using an sd card can cause feezing (ejecting it solves this) and potentially makes the card unusable. I'm based in the UK, and recently handed my Ally over to Curry's. They sent it off for repair, it took about 3 weeks. So far, my card seems to be working.
An alternative would be to use a us c adaptor, and I suggested one in my post. Or upgrade the internal drive, which is a better option.

Man that sucks. I don’t even have a SD card in the system and it freezes up. I’ll contact Best Buy I guess.

Yeah, seems like yours is even worse! Hope you get it fixed. Make a note of serial and model number in case you get a revision as maybe there's a new batch. Mine was a repair and they left a folder on the desktop named test... So they must have checked it before it shipped back.
Hopefully they are aware of common issues and it's an easy fix now. Fingers crossed.

Hi @SquidGN ,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I would like to confirm with you if the power was connected when you were downloading and performing cloud recovery.
Could you please check if the BIOS and Windows updates are both up to date through MyASUS?
If you have already confirmed the above steps and the issue persists, we recommend that you bring your product to a local authorized service center for further diagnosis. Thank you.

It was fully up to date. I’m gonna have to take it into Best Buy. Seems like it has bad ram as the test in the bios gets halfway done before freezing.
