Rog Ally Dock Issues, Not allowing 30W Turbo mode

Hello All, It appears me and some others are having issues with docks / hubs not allowing 30W turbo mode. I have personally tried 4 different chargers, all that support Power delivery of 100W+ and 4 different Docks and hubs all allowing 100W PD. No matter what combination I use, I cannot get any of them to allow 30W turbo mode. I confirmed their 100W capability with with ROG Zephyrus G15 Laptop and an Anker 737 Battery bank. All of them, in every combination, will charge my G15 and Anker 737. The Anker 737 display confirms its charging at a minimum of 90W, this is well above the 65W requirement for 30W Turbo Mode. This seems to be a software/bios issue that hopefully Asus can fix. I have also added a video, of the Armory Crate Notification.

There is nothing in Amoury Crate that shows 30W turbo. They are making stuff up. It either  show in the command center or it does NOT. The Real-time Monitort does NOT count either.,

That's odd that you're discounting a real time monitor and prefer to have an icon be your  absolute indicator. I already know there isn't an issue beyond the icon and manual modes misbehaving so I'll keep on enjoying 30w turbo while you worry about an icon 😀

I am not getting that notification now. If I unplug it goes to Turbo mode, but when I plug back in, it goes to my default Manual settings. Also, Turbo mode on battery is 25W, not 30. When powered, it shows 30W.

I think it's less about the icon and more about whether the Ally is actually running in 30W mode or not.

This is what i suspect but cant prove - i think you are right

Here's the thing about that. I've set the modes to different values and looked at power draw. It appears that the system will allow you to go over the set amount, at least for a short period of time. So, when set to 15W mode, I might see 20 or 22. So, I'm wondering what the max power draw is at 30W? I know it's over 30 because I've seen power draw above that. Or at least that is what real time monitor is showing.

Yes i heard - great news

No dice.... Still stuck at 25w according to command center.  That's with the stock charger and a 100w ugreen hub.

I got mine working now operating at 30 watt turbo mode with a third party dock. To make any third party dock work that is capable of delivering 100 watt, you must use a 100 watt USB-c charger when supplying power to the dock.  You cannot use the Rog Ally 65 watt charger connected to the dock as this will give you only 25 watt max and that is because the dock also consumes power and therefore and will not be able to deliver the full 65 watt the Rog Ally needs.  I bought an Asus Rog Ally 100 watt USB-c Charger that usually comes with Asus laptop ($56 at Amazon)  and used it with the dock and I now gets 30 watt turbo mode with Ibros dock.
