Device stuck in boot loop, Cloud recovery triggered from BIOS fails and device boots only in BIOS

Hi,

I just got my new Rog Ally and started doing the Windows Updates, but it started randomly restarting and after a few tries to get back into Windows it went into automatic repair. Tried restoring windows and nothing worked and ended up using MyAsus in WinRe and did a Cloud Recovery. That didn't solve the issue, but MyAsus in WinRe disappeared so I tried another Cloud Recovery triggered from BIOS as per the instructions of Asus Support page. It downloads the files, asks if backup is required, bla bla and then goes to the 0% screen, then it again restarts and goes straight into BIOS. Everytime now it goes straight to BIOS.

Cloud recovery seems to repeat the same behavior no matter how many times I try it. Has anyone else encountered this? Since I bought it two days ago and arrived yesterday, I can still return it, but just wanted to find out if someone else had this issue.

Hi @CojoRaz92 ,

Please check if the volume (-) key is experiencing any issues.
If the volume (-) key is properly, based on the described situation, it seems necessary to send the ALLY to a local service center for further testing and confirmation. As you have recently purchased the product, to ensure your rights, we recommend contacting the dealer for additional assistance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

Hi,

As it was recently bought I just returned it and set an order for another new one. Hope this one won’t have any issues. Seemed like it was some kind of software conflict caused by the updates to Windows and have the feeling that Cloud Recovery messed things further instead of repairing them.

Is there a specific order of doing updates when you first get the device? Any special thing that I should do when receiving the new product ?

Hi @CojoRaz92 ,

Thank you for your reply. You can proceed with the updates in sequence through the update recommendations in MyASUS. During the updating process, please ensure that the device is connected to a power source to prevent any unexpected shutdowns that may lead to abnormalities during the update. I hope the new ALLY bring you a better user experience. Thank you.
