Crashes to black screen on ROG Ally X

nvera

Several people have reported this issue on Reddit; I've encountered it myself as well.

I created this thread on the ROGAllyX subreddit to try and gather info, no one else has added to it yet but it also has links to all the other threads I've seen about this matter: https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAllyX/comments/1eoch1d/rog_ally_x_black_screen_crashes_has_it_happened/

Wondering if anyone can shed any more light on the cause and/or workarounds, or if an upcoming update is going to sort it.

I have been having this problem pop up as well.  It is happening with steam games, as well as Diablo IV through battle.net. It seems to be occurring when I press the Y button at random times.

when I reply to the email it says that the address does not receive emails. how so I send the file to you?

This is now happening to me too, randomly when pressing Y button in game. All bios and drivers are updated.  Please assist!

I did the rtc reset, turned off svm. I’ve also turned of all amd optimizations and have noticed an improvement. These seems to me to be an amd driver and bios issue. Thank you!

Yep I'm having the same issue and it doesn't matter the game. The Y button is what's causing the crashes

I had the Y button cause the same black screen crash when I was in the BIOS.  😕

I'm having this same issue. Like others have said, it always seems to happen when I press the Y button. I've tried a lot of "fixes" listed on this and the Reddit thread. Of note, since it was mentioned in this thread, I disabled Virtualization, but I'm still having the issue.

The only thing I haven't tried is the Beta BIOS 310. I can't find a working link to it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find and download it?

Used to be this link. I got mine from here. Can give it a try see if it still works

Thank you for sharing, but the link doesn't work anymore. It says the content either expired or was deleted.

Has the newer BIOS fixed the issue for you, though?

Oh man.

I have 2 tested 2 different versions of the BIOS. The 310 has been stable so far. The other one has still been iffy.

Perhaps The ROG moderator here may drop in to contact you with regards to the situation.

Or you can try checking the Reddit thread as well from the original post. Most of the guys here are there too
