Asus ROG Ally X - Embedded Controller doesn't work in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Recently went for the upgrade from the ROG Ally to ROG Ally X. In the XBOX Game Pass PC Version of Disney Dreamlight Valley, the embedded controller doesn't work at all in game. Have to change to Desktop Mode, and that is not a good way to play.

I've hooked up an external Xbox controller, via bluetooth and wired, and with both connections it works.

Hi @TH_Tech1 ,

You mentioned that the issue only occurs when playing Dreamlight Valley on the ALLY X. Does the controller work normally on the OG ALLY? Please try switching the controller to auto mode and see if it functions properly.

If the issue persists, could you please enable the Log recording function in Armoury Crate and use an external device to record a video showing the controller malfunction? Kindly send the log, video, and the following information via private message so that we can further investigate. Thank you!

  • Serial Number (S/N):
  • BIOS Version:
  • Windows Build Version: (Settings > System > About)
  • Display Driver Version:
  • Armoury Crate SE > Settings > General > About > Service Version > Check Button (Copy all content):

Hi All,

Upon confirmation, the Disney Dreamlight Valley has a compatibility issue with controllers, which results in the joystick only being usable in Desktop mode. This issue has been reported on other handheld devices from different brands as well.

We have already contacted the game developer to inform them of this issue, and we recommend that all users also contact the game developer to check the list of supported devices. Thank you.

Hi All,

As of today, I have all the latest windows updates + ROG Ally X updates, and the built in gamepad now seems to work.
