AC 1.5 does not work with ROG Ally Z1 Extreme

Asus, perhaps you should have actually tested the new AC with original Allys before rolling it out?  My original Ally Z1 Extreme is not happy at all. Embedded controls are broken, nothing works.  Tried resetting the app, tried a fresh install of the app, the only solution was eventually to disable AC at boot.  Asus need to roll back AC quickly or fix.  Unless this is a ploy to get us to all go out and get the new Ally X

Hi @VGAglory @Angmodurian ,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue.

We take this matter very seriously and hope to gather more information about your usage scenario and device details for further analysis and confirmation.

If you have already updated the BIOS to the latest version, and tried uninstalling ASUS System Control Interface v3, using the uninstall tool to remove Armoury Crate SE, then reinstalling ASUS System Control Interface v3 version V3.1.32 and Armoury Crate SE, and the issue still persists, please enable the log recording feature in Armoury Crate SE, and record a video showing the issue you are encountering. Please provide the following information, along with the video and log files, via private message for further confirmation. Thank you.

  • Serial Number:
  • Windows Build Version: (Settings -> System -> About)
  • Display Driver Version:
  • Any external displays or other devices (controllers, docks, etc.):

【This is the file path for the log file, provided for your reference.】
In Armory Crate SE, navigate to" Settings">"General" and check the "About" page. Click on "App Diagnostics tool" and select "Log Files" to bring up the Privacy Policy statement. Once the user agrees to the statement, Armory Crate will start collecting diagnostic logs. You can click on "Generate Log Data" to create an encrypted log file (ASUS log file).

Hi @VGAglory ,

Please try using the uninstall tool to remove Armoury Crate SE and reinstall it to see if there is any improvement? Thank you.

I have tried this and also just resetting the app, but no joy.

Yes it is unstable i actually do not want to upgrade why change something that is not broken but the automatic update in AC caught me off guard and it prompt me to update automatically because i never notice i have to untick it. Now transition between desktop and auto mode is buggy leaving behind mouse cursor. Sometimes in game the buttons also fail completely. Please release back the previous version for ally, this AC is designed for X not for ally i guess.

I find it amazing that they have just rolled this out without obviously testing it on original hardware!  When AC released with the OG Ally it was a buggy mess and it took a year to get it to a semi reasonable state.  Now we are back to square one again.

Update : A third attempt at uninstalling AC and a fresh install has worked!  I don't recollect doing anything different but my OG Ally appears to be now working with the new AC.  I can only suggest if others are having this issue for them to be patient and try a clean uninstall/reinstall multiple times!
