War Thunder and World of Tanks crashes PC

Hi everyone. Lately I have experienced problems with two online games that I like to play. World of tanks and war thunder. Initially it was only related to alt tabbing between game window and other windows. Now however WoT causes my PC to crash (complete shut down) everytime I enter the game (or starting battle). War thunder is more stable but also cause my PC to shut down every now and then.
Support from World of tanks adviced me to run Furmark to stress test my graphic card, but Furmark also causes my PC to crash 😞
I have used CPUID HWmonitor to check my PC temps while playing war thunder and graphic card hits 94 degrees, but that's within the recommended limits. CPU appears stable when testing with prime95 although I have no previous experience running that stress testing tool.
I have updated every driver I could find updates for, except BIOS which I am reluctant to touch since the PC is otherwise stable.

Hardware: Striker II NSE motherboard, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 480 graphic, Intel Core Duo 2 E8500 3.17 GHz, windows 7 x64.

94C is way too hot for any vga you need to cool your card add fans leave side panel off if thats what it takes. There is no need to run prime95 you have a heat problem, how often do clean the inside of your rig and I would not update your bios it will not help. Clean all dust from inside your rig add fans see if that helps.

Ok, will do. I did it quite recently but I'll be extra thourough this time.

However, especially World of Tanks crashes right away. I don't see how the card can heat from 64 degrees to critical in a matter of seconds. But maybe I just don't understand how the thermal switch off works.

Follwing your advice I dissembled my PC and gave it a good cleaning. (Yes, it was a bit dusty, especially in the hard to get to places :o).

It has lowered the temp on the graphic card by 7-12 degrees, so that's great. Thank you.

However, my crashing issues persist. Now I'm wondering if the Gforce software is the problem - the install looks a bit messy and I'd like to do a complete clean sweep of Gforce software, all the way down to the regedit level.
