RAM into GAMES?

Hello guys, I'm new to the whole "good rig" gaming scene. I recently purchased a asus g75vw about a month ago and I realized I loaded games like dota 2 and League of Legends slower than my other friends with 4gb ram i3 and low end gfx card DESKTOP. I know it's a desktop but still why do I load only as fast or slower than them?, I recently checked task manager and it says I'm only using 3gb outof my 12 gb ram. Is there a way to use more of my ram and to direct it to certain programs?

What HDD speeds do they have? Desktop HDDs are faster than laptop drives, and especially if they have 7.2K RPM and you have 5.4K RPM drives. There are a number of factors, but it is not RAM, it is HDD that affects this. Windows will automatically assign RAM to programs, provided there is RAM free and they can address it (32-bit programs won't use more than 2 GB of 4 GB addressable 3 GB with PAE on).
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

If both systems were the same, or had similar hardware and software installed then we would have a valid comparison. But as you say we are talking different systems, and I assume different software. All those factors account for start up time or load time for games. Most of the time it is the hard drive that will determine how quick the game starts. It was for that reason I enquired about SSD's.

AV's running, other applications running such as indexing and so forth. There are a number of good sites on the web that can help you find the most sleek version of your OS, or in other words optimise your OS for your personal needs. http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-7-service-pack-1-service-confi... For example.
