I have a question guys, since you guys are all experts on PC gaming. I was wondering what would be better a 27’ inch monitor or a high end 32 to 40 inch TV. I have been reading a few things on this and it kind of goes both ways?? What’s your guys advice, thanks everyone??

I'd take a 27" monitor any day for a PC.. You get a highter resolution and greater clarity, and then its easier to use everyday.

The vast vast majority of proper PC gamers still use screens as opposed to TV's.

??? Both ??? For everyday a 40in monitor is painful, but it sure is a nice option.
[if its in the budget].c.

Also it matters how close you are. I play on a 27" Samsung LCD and its perfect for my desk.

If I was building an entertainment/gaming rig I may consider a larger TV with high specs, and then bring it into the living room.

It's all personal preference. If you're at a desk a 27" is probably perfect.

Well I have been looking at a, Insignia™ - 39" Class (38-1/2" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - 120Hz - HDTV

I have a big desk, I all ready have a asus 3d 27 inch moniter, which is really nice. I play both my pc and my ps3 games on it, but I have been playing more my ps3, still kinda new to pc gaming and trying to get use to it. I was just seeing if it would be nicer on a big screen.

Sometimes I do wish I had a monitor over a tv, but not very often. I am using a 32" Samsung and its clarity is just as good as any flatscreen. Most tvs auto-detect your resolution which is the only downside. It took me a little while to figure out how to work around that, but now that I have I am more than happy with the setup I have now. Wouldn't change a thing, and playing on a 32" vs my old 19" monitor is a definite plus. I have been using this setup for going on 4 years, and you'll have no complaints out of me. And the volume can be controlled with a remote.

Gaming on a 15" or a 50" isn't much different, you just sit further back.

I would personally go with smaller dual screens. A huge screen does require you sit much further back (which usually isn't the type of set up people have in house) whereas if you have duals, you can easily have the game on one screen ( or extend it to both if you wish, assuming it's supported ) and have other things going on still on the other screen. That's what I do xP

a 32" is nice. I have a reclining gaming chair at my pc desk and I just lean back and play. Appx 4 feet is a comfortable distancewfor me. I do aften wish I had dual view setup though, I have thought about getting a 19" monitor and run my desktop on it while I game on my 32". There are several games I play that don't make going to the desktop easy. That would be my only complaint with one large monitor, the lack of convenience when trying to multitask.

There are certain programs you can use that allow you to split a display in to multiple desktops, or to have multiple virtual desktops. Perhaps you could try something like that.
