Hi everyone,
I'm gonna built my own PC for gaming and also want to get your opinions about that. I mean what you'd advice to change?
System:
-Intel 3rd gen. i7 3770K
-Asus Maximus V Gene Motherboard
-Asus Nvidia Gtx 660 Ti
-Corsair Vengeance 8gb ram
-Corsair Gaming Series GS 800w Power Supply (2013 edition)
-Samsung 840 Series 250gb SSD

Thanks and waiting for any advice!

I'd switch the i7 3770k for an i5 3570k. That should give you enough money to put a GTX 670 instead of a GTX 660 TI. Other than that, everything else looks fine.

You've been ROG approved! 😛

I think this is good advice.

I have no problems with my 660Ti. Playing Assassins Creed 3 on ultra setting 1080i runs around 40% gpu usage. I agree on the i5 3570k, those extra cores will do nothing for you when it comes to gaming, and I have no problems doing anything with mine. I usually have about 10 different things going at one time and the cpu usage hasn't hit 50% yet. Actually it normally sits around 15% when I am multi-tasking. Only while running 3dmark11 has it been maxed out. When I looked at the 660Ti and the 670 side by side, and considered that the card can either do it or it can't, The 660Ti seemed like the way to go. I can add another for SLI later on. Anyway, do what feels right man, I was upgrading videocards on my LGA775 rig and it turned into the rig you see in my signature. Either way, you are going to have an awesome rig.

Before you start your new build, please read through some of the threads on this ROG forum http://rog.asus.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?134-Build-Advice - especially the first 2 "sticky" ones.

Best of luck!

I agree. Research! I spent 3 months reading up on different parts and looking at specs and charts before I bought anything. Compare! http://www.hwcompare.com/ this is good for comparing videocards, but remember this is a theoretical chart unless it actually has benchmarks for specific games.

Or grab a HD7800 series or HD7900 series
Selected HD7800 series comes with Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider.
Selected HD7900 series comes with Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3.
For the SSD, if your going with a Samsung 840, then grab the 840 Pro, not the regular 840.
The 840 uses toggle nand flash, which says it's not that good. Can't get the 840 Pro, then grab a Samsung 830.
Need to grab a 3rd party cooler if your planning to overclock, Noctua NH-D14, Thermalright Silver Arrow, budget is Cooler Master 212Evo (There is a new X version, but it's not on sale yet). Closed loop Liquid Cooling, then check out the H60 for budget purchase, start with a H80 for Ocing, best is H100.
Don't get ram with tall heat spreaders, because it may interfere with large CPU coolers, Cosair has Vengence ram with low-profile heatsinks.
