I just got BF4 and it is the hottest game that i have run yet. Skyrim runs around 55c - 60c max. BF4 brings it up to 70c - 78c max.
The laptop while not running a game stays around 30c - 45c.

My laptop is an ASUS ROG G75JT

1TB HDD
3GB GTX 970m
intel core-I7 4710HQ
and 16GB Ram

What is a safe gaming temp for this laptop?

How are you gauging the temps? AB (Riva), Precision or other? What are your temps with Heaven Benchmark?

and DO remember, running multi monitoring program WILL give you false readings.

Looking at max temps might also give a incorrect impression of gaming temperatures.

When i play Witcher 3 for example on my desktop i can see that max temps can be around 55c, but those temps are very briefly and only while the game is starting up and loading a save etc. When im actually playing my temperatures are instead around 40-45c.

I usually use HWInfo 64 to check temperatures and there i can see both max temp and also average temp. So even if max temp can be higher, average temp is always much less.

Laptops are very different to Desktops... Bare in mind they don't have the cooling..

Okay now God Father. I too run a lot of games on my laptop. Hitting 70c is fine as long as you have the correct positioning of the laptop and cooling.

If you're playing on your lap but the fans are all clear then you're okay, if you have one of the fans blocked you could see some problems over time. If you're not already I suggest you get a laptop cooling stand for it to sit on for extra cooling.

If you have this then you know you shouldn't see as many problems (bare in mind that the laptop cooling stand wont be able to come into contact with the motherboard since it'll be pointing at the bottom of the laptop, however it will help)
