Game Plus Beta download?

Does anyone know what the game plus beta download does exactly? https://rog.asus.com/downloads/#
Isnt game plus the fps, crosshair, & timer that is built in to monitors such as my PG279Q? If so than I dont understand what
the download is needed or used for. I couldnt find any answers or references through a search.

I was wondering what it was too. I think it's a GUI overlay for your games, you can add timers, custom crosshairs and also an FPS counter.
