I have been out of the gaming scene for 5-6 yrs but bought a new G74 as a desktop replacement and was looking for a sim/game that I could fly in again. Wanted something I could use a Saitek 52X on and could either co-op online or fly alone... I have Sat. connection at my house in Canada so no go online gaming there... Other house has cable so I can game online there. I have flown IL-2 and Lock On and Falcon 4 but was looking for something newer (if there is anything) and that will work well with windows 7.
Help anyone.. Thanks

You might want to check out DCS: Black Shark 2 where you fly the Russian Ka-50 attack chopper or DCS: A-10C Warthog. I personally own Black Shark and it is definitely a very nice flight simulator that goes extremely in depth and it might be up your alley. I believe there is also an updated version of Lock On (Flaming Cliffs 2 I believe) that you may want to check out. Hope this helps!

I have flown IL-2, Falcon 4.0, lock on and several others... I am looking at DCS-P51. It looks very good. The issue I have is my high speed is not so "high" at our home in New Brunswick CA (Sat. with a choke) So online is basically not gonna happen in the near future. Loved IL-2 online...
Years and years ago I had Jane's Longbow and ATF Jets. Loved that game...what is out there that is comparable today...I see the Microsoft flying games but they just look cheap and they are so old.

wow. I love flight sims. I wish there was a updated version of Gunship2000. Man... I used to love that game!

It really depends on what your looking for. If you are looking for immersion flying you need a Track IR and a good HOTAS and a big monitor. The DCS series looks good for props and jets and Lock On flaming cliffs for F-15 and other jets, IL-2 for online WW-2 fighters... Some have very, very good detail and realism (DCS and Lock on), Manuals of 100s of pages etc.
