I have tried LoL, DotA, HotS, Smite.
Smite really isn't my cup of tea, I played a game or two and got bored. Maybe it evolved since I list tried it (almost 2 years ago, I believe).

HotS feels casual -- no need to last hit, focused on objectives, there are no (situational) builds (unless you take the traits into consideration). I tried it with some friends ( 5-man premade) and it was fun, for a couple of games, but I couldn't bear playing more. Still, I like the different objectives.

DotA (2) on the other hand feels like the opposite of HotS -- you will get matched up against veterans (speaking from experience here, maybe I was just unlucky?) and you run down mid and you can't last hit anything because the other dude is denying everything from you and you end up with 2 lvls behind and you just get **** on. Sure, git gud, but that's not that easy to achieve when you're tilted AF. Anyway, you invest some time into it and get to a point where you actually make a difference, you're strong and... and you wreck the enemy team. Again, speaking from experience here and I found it extremely hard or simply impossible to comeback or to lose once I had certain advantage. All in all, DotA 2 is clearly more complex than HotS and even LoL.

And now my pick -- League of Legends.
First of all, I probably play it over the other mobas because most of my friends play it also. What's the point of playing a multiplayer game if you're not playing with your friends? I'd get bored so very easily.
There are a lot of champions/heroes for you to try out, lots of builds and all that good stuff, but DotA has that too, right?
The characters are pretty dynamic, especially the new ones. There are objectives -- drakes, rift herald, baron (these 3 grant you buffs), towers, inhibitors and, finally, the nexus -- the big rock you have to destroy in order to win.
All I can say, guys, is that, if you haven't already, give LoL a try. You might like it.
I ended up in diamond last season and oh boy, I gotta say -- most of the community is ****, though (don't know how DotA's community is). Hang in there.

Have fun, whatever you are playing and have a nice Christmas!

I don't have the time and also the equipment to engage myself in MOBA games. But with a little help from a good friend, I get the opportunity to play and for me there is no one that is better than MOBA2. The game engages in every possible respect.I must, however, confess that it is most of the time difficult to keep pace with the rivals and the game. Maybe it is due to the fact that I am already past 45 years when eyes and ears start playing tricks!

Admittedly, it looks like DotA is without a doubt the best MOBA for the majority of the users here.

In addition to why I like League is better, or rather more enjoyable for me is that I am attracted to the skins they make. Seriously, kind of childish but I like how they make skins in LoL. They just express their inner creativity via the skins (examples of creative skins: Elementalist Lux, Meowkai, Dunkmaster Darius, etc.). They also make skins for pro teams (Fnatic, SKT, SSW) and skins for the personality of the characters themselves (Devil Teemo, Baker Pantheon, etc.) -- All these skins has some awesome splash art, different particles on some skins, special emotes on some skins, and some different voice. 🙂

Furthermore, to make it more attractive to some, League offers rotating game modes every week. (I think there are five, not sure, I don't play those. Haha.)

Come on League fans, express yourselves! xD

Gamers don't age. If so, age is just a number. Go on, friend.

Gonna have to go with DOTA. I think it's been updated and supported pretty well over the years.

Seems more accessible for beginners.

well, for me there can not be any other one since it's the only MOBA that I ever touched, and I am not making this up

I have to go with smite.I have tried playing LoL , it is played like you would play "red alert 2" or similar games, clicking the mouse to move the character seemed old fashioned,"Dota 2" looked similar gameplay .On the other hand smite is played in a first person shooter kind of way, which makes it more realistic, and like a future version of "LoL" And "Dota 2".

DOTA 2

Maybe it's my affection for niche mod concepts turn main stream or just the fact Valve picked this up. Built with community first mentality makes this one of the few MOBA games still going strong. With plenty of characters and strategies to pick from this is easily my favorite.

I think everytime i look first games graphics, dota 2 great about this then my best moba dota 2, playable nice others mobas too.:)
