BF3 Crashing after 10 min

BF3 has been crashing on me about 10 minutes in or so every time. Here are my system specs:


Rampage 4 extreme

Intel i7 3930k

Intel thermal solution RTS 2011 Liquid Cooler

Corsair Dominator GT 12 gb

LG Bluray burner

Intel SSD 520 series 120 gb

Dual Asus GTX 570 SLI'd

RaidMax 850 AE Power supply

Antec 1200 case

In game everything plays perfectly smooth, all graphics and sound are perfect then game crashes 10 min or so in every time. Screen goes black for a few moments then the monitor goes off like it lost the signal forcing me to manual shut down. After doing some googling it seems it's a common problem, most people with similar system specs and almost always have SLI going as I do. Everything is up to date for vid cards and MOBO. Any idea what is going on or possible fixes?

At this point I am to assume this is related to my crashing problem, often when it crashes I do hear and error message ding right before the screen goes dead.

Try what kkn suggested.

Best drivers for BF3 that I used with my 570 GTX Sli were the 290.53 betas. My son is still using them since I gave him the 570's when I went to 680's.

I've been lazy and haven't tryed do revert back to that driver. It's deffintily still crashing only now it's at random times 15min 30min 1hour, So something is still wrong.

there are several thats having problem whit the 3xx drivers ( the 5xx series cards )
do a clean instal of the drivers first, if theres enny thing wrong after that then you know its not the drivers.
and then it can be some thing else.

I'll tell you it's really weird. I just played two rounds for well over an hour and no crash! Don't understand why it does it sometimes and other times it don't. FUNKY!!!

Update. Tryed reverting back to the previous driver, the one right before the current newest one. I went and played a few rounds of BF3 and at first it seemed fine but then I started noticing some lag/skippy kind of stuff going on, I thought it was the server maybe so I tryed a different one and same thing. I noticing no crashing though as I played long into a couple a rounds but this driver is very laggy/skippy for BF3. Noticibly worse than the newest driver. So I reupdated back to the current newest driver and sure enough it is WAAAY smoother than the older one, atleast in BF3. Now that I am back on the new driver, if it continues to crash on me the last thing I have to try is raise the voltage on the vid cards as that is the only other thing I read that fixes this problem.

Hi, I also had crash when playing BF 3, I try a lot of method including revert back to the older nvidia driver (now stay with 296.10). After all the troubleshooting, I finally found that the reason for my BF 3 is the overclocking of my CPU. Last time when I overclock my CPU, the Core Voltage was 1.320V, offset +0.025, I try to up the offset to +0.030 and it solved my BF 3 crashing, no more crash after I up the offset. Can I ask do you overclock your CPU? Hope this can help you.

2. Another BF 3 crash for me is when I use Internet Explorer 9 to log into battlelog, it will crash when I playing multiplayer, so I change to Google Chrome and the BF 3 crash gone, you can try it also.

As I stated I noticed a few people with similar issues raising the volatge on the vid card and having that work for them, I am leary to do anything like that though, I really don't feel I should have to change any overclocking settings to get this game to work, it just seems nuts. I do use IE9 so I guess that is an option to try. My problem is strange, I can play for over an hour no problem sometimes when other times it crashes 10-15 minutes in. I just have this strange notion it's a problem with the nvidia driver, but who knows. Really want this problem to be over already lol.

Hi, had you try log in to battlelog with google chrome?
