The winners announcement for Battle of the VR Memes will be posted up on ROG website on Jan 15th
Since this last battle was heavily affected due to the Holidays, we'll be extending the deadline to January 5th until 11:59pm (GMT/UTC +8 - Taiwan time)
Merry Christmas and happy Holidays from everyone here at ASUS ROG!
Finally we bring you the last battle! We wanted to finish off this campaign with a really interesting topic, and nothing would be more fitting than the very hot topic of VR. There’s no better way to show your thoughts about VR than through a meme. Let the meme battles begin!
I came up with my own little VR meme, hope you like it! - It appears some part of the meme is cut off since I can't resize with vBulletin

For bonus points, please also share your idea behind your meme or about VR itself.

It wont be long, the ads will be as intrusive as they are when we are browsing or playing that kind of games that are free and always prompts to go to a website. Next is the VR adBlock, now we will be adding plugins or filters to block them, and now and then its functionality will be broken and will be another pain in the ass. Then, marketing about this and that, buy this virtual apartment that has better light and its less cold at winter, go to that burger house because the burger is juicer, or go to that mansion because the bunnies are sexier . Later we will enter the micro-transaction ERA, where we will do some kind of virtual social service for someone, to be paid with virtual money, to buy a virtual weapon or something, or if you like spending pay some hot cash for the ultra-super-duper-hyper-electric-molten-frozen cape so that you will be virtually cooler in your VIRTUAL REALITY. Now its GABE's time to rub his 3D FACE between your eyes with the 99.92% steam sales of this game and that game, where he will collect your money like he is the freaking tax office and you will end up with a **** ton of VR(-now versions) games, that you will never play because you don't have enough real life hours and cant buy virtual hours (at least for now, maybe it will be the expansion of VR or something). aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now for us the indigent proletarians of hardcore PC gaming that use our overclocked computers for heating at winter will end up playing in a custom-made VR made out of card-box the open-source alternatives because we "support" the open-source community and not because we cannot afford ****. Good Luck to all
I wasn't sure if multiple entries are allowed and I apologise if they are not, but I got this idea over the Christmas season. Gifts we expected compared to what we actually got. Expecting high end VR hardware but receiving hardware that we ought to use our phones with... that kind of VR compared to the actually thing pretty much sucks. hahaha Happy New Year Guys, all the best for 2017! also... I'm sure a lot of people received socks 😄 not a bad gift though 😛
I chose to do this meme because it serves as a double meaning. On one hand, it shows the flaws of VR; it isn't perfect. On the other hand, it demonstrates that VR has room to improve, that its potential still hasn't been reached.
As seen in different demos and pictures VR users always have their mouths open 🙂 so the MEME/JOKE here is that they all have crystal white teeth and obviously need to smell good. I brought in the infamous phrase seen on shopping sites like amazon, ebay and others where after you browse an item and you scroll down it would say "Customers who bought this item also bought ... " and it would display related items customers bought together as a bundle 😄
I've went through all the pages of this contest and didn't see anything similar.
Picture Source: oculus.com/Rift or just google "mouth open vr headset" haha.
I'm glad this got extended, I had the picture ready weeks ago but totally forgot to post the MEME due the holidays etc. until I got an email earlier today as a reminder and notification of the extension for the extra day! *phew*
Here are two. Both convey the advanced VR (and graphics) of PC gamers (even PS4 gamers to a certain extent) and the longing feeling Xbox users have to jump in to the same experiences. Basically, Xbox users be jealous.
And of course, people getting a taste of the Rift or Vive, such as MS Stores..
