ASUS N73SM, i5 / Geforce GT 630M 2 gb / 8 gb POOR FPS on all games

I recently bought a Asus N73SM with a Geforce GT 630M 2gb video card, and 8 gb memory.
since i had it, it runs all games poor ;

GTA IV
F1 2011 / 2012
Dishonoured

just some examples but it really runs everything bad, while when i check the requirements my laptop should easily run it.

So what can be the problem?

i tried so far; updating drivers, using game boosters and selecting the nvidia card to run ( since it got a integrated intel hd 3000 aswell)

always on low for every single game.. while my 3 yr old laptop which i also bought for almost half of the price runs the same stuff on medium (next to that on low quality it STILL lags on my new laptop)

next to that when i push auto-detect settings in various games it puts it on HIGH or ULTRA alot of times while it goes like 1 fps then 😛

tried the ;
- Power4Gear Entertainment
- High Prestation
- Power4Gear High Performance

High prestation and performance made it only run a lil better but still too much lag to enjoy the game.

I'm not directly plugged in the wall, but its in a socket (not sure if thats the right word for it). But its the only one plugged in and at other locations over at friends where i plugged it in the wall it lagged aswell.

You mentioned you have tried selecting the GPU to run your games. Did you do something like this?
1. Open the Nvidia Control Panel
2. Go to 3D settings -> Manage 3D settings
3. Go to the Program Settings tab
4. Select a program to customize: name of your game
5. Set the preferred graphics processor for the program to: High-performance NVIDIA processer

I've tried that multiple times on various games, when that didn't change anything i searced up some tweak guides for the settings in the nvidia control panel for multiple games.

U sure its i5 CPU? If yes which one? Is it i5-2450M??
What graphic card is that? There are few GT630M cards (GF106/116,GF108 and GF117) acc to notebookcheck.com!

What operating system you have?
What nVidia drivers u r using?
Did u instal nvidia drivers as they should be installed?
Latest WHQL is 306.97 (R304) and BETA 310.64 (R310).

This card IS capable of fluent gaming on low and mid settings (depended of game of cours). It is renamed GT540M if it have 96 shader units (GF108) or GT550 and 555 respectively!

It is probably something messy on your setup. I would recomend complete uninstall =>(clean install) of new nVidia drivers and after that go check your performance. It can be software issue but faulty graphic card is also something to consider after you exhaust all other options.
Enlight me!

This is a good set of steps. Make sure you are running the latest drivers from nVidia, not ASUS. ASUS hardly ever updates theirs, so nVidia is better. Oh, to do the clean install, reboot into Safe Mode and uninstall there. Reboot into Safe Mode and install new drivers. Then reboot into Windows.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!
