So, has anyone noticed any improvements or significant changes over the old drivers?

Cheers!

with the older driver razer comm worked only if I used 44 or 48khz(I can't remember which one) now it works at higher frequencies as well, but I've also found a bug, in the phoebus control panel clicking on listen to this device on mic/line in doesn't work anymore, it still works from the device properties though

W7 user here.

I did a fresh Windows 7 install on a new drive last night and figured it would be a good chance to try out the new drivers, after having previously used the beta 3.08CR on my last installation.

My only issue is that when watching youtube videos, or sometimes just seemingly at random, I will get a moderate 'click' noise and then the speaker configuration seems to forget what it's doing. Instead of 5.1, I'll get no sound from the right channels and the rear left speaker seems to provide the bulk of the sound. This can then only be corrected by switching the sound from the current setting of 5.1 to something else and back again. Quite annoying...

Can you post a youtube video link? Did you turn on any effects?

There is a new bug that forces my headphones' sample rate to set to 48KHz/16Bits when I turn on Xear Surround Headphone.

This is quite pathetic. I had personally mailed the support address twice with the description of the Battlefield 3 sound issues and this forum is filled with complaints regarding that topic too. I just installed the card back into my machine and gave these new drivers a go only to find that the sound is still bugged and all sounds come from the wrong speakers.

in the past people got the firmware to update on a 2nd (friends) pc

i doubt 1014 and 1015 are the same or in reality we would only have 1014 so I call BS on that. It fixed something and the ASUS easy out is to deny any change.

Basically ASUS cannot replicate the fault and/or fix the firmware update bug so they are brushing it under the carpet

Gonzo I think it's a bit extreme but not at the same time...that's a lot of programming to be a "bug"...to check for a firmware and deny an upgrade is one thing, but to change the reported firmware and update it is another. As much as I like Raja, I think even he has be duped here to a degree, possibly. There's a LOT of lines of programming to be written to flash a firmware update, even if it "is" the same and is just labeled 1015, why would they even add that line of programming into the driver? That's a question I would like answered, granted, I'm on 1014 and was never prompted for the firmware.
Asus G20CB - Core i7 6700, Nvidia GTX980, 16GB Ram, 256GB SK Hynix SSD, 1TB Samsung SSD.

I think the main thing to take away from the whole firmware issue is that whether you have 1014 or 1015 it means nothing in relation to the drivers. The drivers will work the same regardless. So no worries until stuff gets sorted out, if ever.

That said I would like a better answer as well, but hey, I would also like to own a dog when I live with a cat. ?;- )
