He'll just tell you to contact your local support, he's basically useless.

Hey guys, they have uploaded a beta driver today for windows 10 x86 and x64 with the specifications of what it will not work. Fortunately they've come back to old interface before sonic studio. So I've already install it as soon as I don't use any of the things that didn't work with this beta driver and no issues till now (just didn't work with xear surround headphone turned on but I don't use it so it won't bother me).
So who use the two things below it should stick with the older driver from 8.1 till asus came back with new drivers (they've said soon):
The use of features below is not recommended.
1.When sound effect is on, it can’t be played.
2.SPDIF out via DDL cannot be played.

Maybe I'm the only one but i have seriously no idea what Asus is trying to say here..

Well at least my GF will be very happy that Asus went back to the old UI before monstrosity called Sonic Studio.. if they only include all the functionality they killed with Sonic Studio.

Updated drivers will be posted soon... think we all know all to well by now what Asus definition of soon is..

Same issues as on the 8.1.1.35 without sonic studio. The only difference is that no need to edit CmSetx.dll to install.

Means that when you turn on Xear Surround speaker, you can't play anything. (I've tested during a playback and the playback stops when that option was ticked).

Thanks for the clarification.

Why cant Asus say "Xear Surround speaker currently not functioning" or something that is less cryptic then what they say now on the download page...

I will wait with updating my GF system then, hopefully Asus will release a decent version of the driver soon.

Asus like asus.

The new Win 10 beta-driver.

"Dllhost.exe runtime error" when open some Windows tab.

Know-how.
1. Kill "HsMgr application" in Windows task manager.
2. Download STX Windows 10 driver "STX_8_1_8_1823_Win10", extract to some directory.
3. Rename HsMgr64.exe (for AMD64 target, or HsMgr.exe for x86) to ExMgr.exe
4. Put this file to %windir/syswow with overwrite existing ExMgr.exe
4.1 Copy HsSrv64.dll (HsSrv.dll) to %windir/syswow
5. Reboot.

Asus + Cmedia = $#^%$^$#$#@$^$%&^

The only thing you have to do is to make the driver work with netflix in windows 10 is to change a setting in the registry.

Try changing this registry (Win + R: type in regedit to get to the registry editor) and then reboot
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio] "DisableProtectedAudioDG"=dword:00000001
If it is set to "1", try setting it to "0"

quoted from: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-pictures/netflix-error-code-w8156-888900...

again it lacks of an equalizer setting

xear surround does not work
