Wifi 6e (6Ghz) not working correctly on iPad Pro 13 M4 iOS 18.1.1 - ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro

Hi guys,

I just bought a new iPad, it says it can connect to wifi 6e but I noticed some trouble there.

My version is wifi + Cellular, I noticed when I manually add a APN for some reason the wifi 6e (6Ghz) network just disappeared, I do have a Macbook Pro 16 M3 max MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1 (24B91) and the 6Ghz works like a charm but on my Ipad don't.

I don't really know what it can be the error/bug here, any help is appreciated, thanks.

Is MLO enabled/toggled ON?  How about Preferred Scanning Channels?

If you name 5 GHz and 6 GHz the same SSID and Passkey "Compatibilitada limitada" should disappear:

I don't use MLO, I use individuals bands

2.4Ghz

5Ghz

6Ghz

Just a couple of points, in your attachment, it looks to me like it is showing no 5 GHz network.  Then it shows the 2.4.  Could the 6 GHz be showing below where your attachment stops?

If I was looking at the correct iPad, it is not Wi-Fi 7?

Country of origin may be involved.  Some countries have not, as yet, accepted full Wi-Fi 6e or Wi-Fi 7 compatibility.

I don't what you mean it doesn't show 5ghz, it is in the picture.

Ipad it's not showing the 6Ghz band, but I delete the APN for carrier then it appears

Which carrier is that?  Is it possible they use 6 GHz range and iPad can use only cellular or WiFi?

That's what I was thinking about, but would it weird for apple to announce both things and finally just one works

6E does a form of MLO.  I sometimes see my son's MacBook M2 Max connected through Thunderbolt - Ethernet and WiFi at the same time.  But WiFi 7 allows both cellular AND WiFi.  (This is why I do not push my son to upgrade until Apple adopts WiFi 7).

It does not makes sense still as you note, for WiFi and cellular to share the same 6 GHz range.  Did you try calling Apple support to ask if that was normal?

@jzchen Maybe this will help.  No Wi-Fi 7, so no MLO, but does show a simultaneous Wi-Fi Connection.

Cellular is as shown.  What comes with the 5G version depends on provider plan used.  This may be limited by location.  I happen to live in an area with 10 Gbps 5G service from Verizon.

Changing the APN may change what your original name gives you access to from the provider, hard to know for sure.

When I say no 5GHz, maybe the attachment will help.  If it is available, why is it not down in the My Networks section with the 2.4?  Where does the 6 GHz show when it does show up?
