Im a long time user of ROG Devices and sometimes i almost regret it.. for two years i have a GT-AX11000 not needing the full wifi speed, but now for work reasons i do, so testing my ISP Speeds and am having problems getting the Wifi up to the speeds I should be capable of. Here's some information:
Internet - 1Gbps optic fiber, modem with Gb ports (tested).
Router: Gt-Ax11000 Pro S/N
Mode: Wireless Router
Firmware: 3.0.0.6.102_34815
Conection at Port 2.5Gb or 10G (same result)
Wire Cat6E Slanpro.
Speed testing in Mbps:
Modem to router (test in GUI): ___________880 Up, 700 Down, measured several times
Router to wired PC: ____________880 Up, 700 Down, measured several times
Router to PC over Wifi 2.4Gzh: ________75 Up, 147 Down
Router to Samsung Galaxy S24Ultra over Wifi 2.4Gzh: ________ 102 Up, 175 Down
Router to PC over Wifi 5.0 (1) Gzh: _________453 Up, 803 Down
Router to Samsung Galaxy S24Ultra over Wifi 5.0 (1) Gzh: ________ 507 Up, 428 Down
Modem to router to 5.0 (2) Gzh wifi PC: __205 Up, 210 Down
Router to Samsung Galaxy S24Ultra over Wifi 5.0 (2) Gzh: ________ 502 Up, 430 Down
As you can see, my wifi speeds are significantly lagging. All tests were conducted on an AX and Wifi6 compliant PC with updated drivers (Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160Mhz). The speed at the router is fine and the throughput on a wired connection is fine, but the Wifi is definitely not. I've tried a lot of settings and did a full factory restore after the last firmware update. I'm also using channels with little to no other traffic. I'm sure I'm probably missing something, but here is my current settings just for review:
2.4Ghz:
Smart Connect: _______________OFF
Wireless Mode: _______________AUTO
802.11ax/Wifi 6 Mode: ________ENABLE
WiFi Agile Multiband: ________DISABLED
Target Wake Time: ____________DISABLED
Channel Bandwidth: ___________20/40 Mhz
Extension Channel: ___________BELOW
Control Channel: _______ 11
Protected Management Frames: _DISABLED
5.0 (1) Ghz:
Smart Connect: _______________OFF
Wireless Mode: _______________AUTO
802.11ax/Wifi 6 Mode: ________ENABLE
WiFi Agile Multiband: ________DISABLED
Target Wake Time: ____________DISABLED
Channel Bandwidth: ___________80 ENABLE 160MHz
Control Channel: ________ 64
Extension Channel: ___________AUTO
Protected Management Frames: _DISABLED
5.0 (2) Ghz:
Smart Connect: _______________OFF
Wireless Mode: _______________AUTO
802.11ax/Wifi 6 Mode: ________ENABLE
WiFi Agile Multiband: ________DISABLED
Target Wake Time: ____________DISABLED
Channel Bandwidth: ___________20/40/80/160 Mhz ENABLE 160MHz
Control Channel: __________ 161
Extension Channel: ___________AUTO
Protected Management Frames: _DISABLED
well knowing my S24 Ultra is capable of speeds higher than 1Gb im just trying to get something close to 850 mbps.
Please let me know if you need any further information. I'd really like this router to be up and running with optimal speeds, but I'm not sure how to get there!
BTW: on Asus Youtube channel and others source of info always refer to use Wifi Radar to get network info, but guess what? that function is not on my configuration menu .. LOL.
Thanks,
Jean

1.please fixed 2.4G channel bandwidth to 40MHz and 5G channel bandwidth to 160MHz
2.check wireless device's link rate
3.the new FW has removed the WiFi radar.
you can follow point1 and check again , then share the result

Thanks for answer, 5G-2 is 160MHz and no change, any ways I'll follow your's instruction and see whats happen.

What ISP is this? I have two that I manage, AT&T requires use of a gateway while Frontier allows my GT-AXE11000 to connect directly to their ONT.
If you don't need AiCloud, you may want to try Merlin firmware as the GPL is higher:

Thanks for answer, My two ISP are: NetUno 450Mb and Fibex Telecom 800Mb. I'll read and check on Merlin.
Thanks.

Both service provide unlimited data? Have you set up Dual WAN load balancing?
01-23-2026 04:47 AM
Yes, both are unlimited, but One of them has 850Mb and configured as a single wan i can't reach wifi spoed higher than 500mb, so i dont want to mess around with any other funtion until stable wifi spped.

Anything connected to the USB 3.0 port? (Could be detrimental noise). Also UPS (simulated sine wave) can have terrible effect if you use one...

What is the history of the AX11000 Pro to your current configuration? Was it used in the original setup?
Have you tried shutting down the ONT (if able) and the router for 5 minutes, then rebooting the ONT and when it is back online, boot the router.
The Wi-Fi signal emanates in a direction perpendicular to the direction the tips of the antenna are pointing. Adjust accordingly to get highest signal strength.
With Fiber you should be getting closer to advertised speed.

Thanks for answer, used in original setup, haven't tried changes about ONT because im getting full speed on the router software do ONT are sending full speed, and from router to PC wired is full speed to (900 + Mb).
Wifi signal is 3 meters away of PC, no walls.
