In February there was a firmware update for the AX3000. After updating it came up with an security error while trying to enter the GUI using https. It instructed you to proceed anyway and log in non-secure. Something about the safety certificate being the router.......
Anyway, now I have a circumstance where I follow the instructions and after entering my password insecure, the screen changes to the GUI screen like it should but then logs me out. I cannot get into my modem.
I have cycled the power, I have reset the modem via the reset button and created my network all over again and still the same result.
I’m afraid I don’t have a clear understanding. I assume “modem” is your ASUS router? This happens right after you successfully set up your network, (after a hard reset where all settings are erased)?
How did you upload the latest firmware? Did you manually upload firmware for a different router accidentally?
Possible solutions: Manually revert to the prior firmware which is just 1 month older. Try using the iOS or Android app to adjust the settings and wait for another firmware update, (which will hopefully solve the problem).
My mistake for not explaining it properly. It was fine in my own head. hahahaha.
Yes, not modem, router.
When I first got the router everything was fine. Then I conducted the update and it started asking about security certificates, etc.
I was then able to log into the router at http: not https:.
This then enabled me to manage my router and network.
I started having network issues so I tried to log into the router and went through the whole security process and logged in. I could just see the main dashboard when it logs me out.
I have tried a hard reset, well everything my limited experience taught me, I can't even log into it via IOS or my partners Android.
The modem is a little old and I am modernizing I hope soon.
I had set up the https login on my AXE11000 but when I upgraded to the AXE16000 I didn't know what to do, so I just use the http: login. I did research the specs of the AX3000, (not sold here in the USA I believe), and WAN specification doesn't show "Let's Encrypt".
I would revert back to the prior firmware and contact ASUS support directly. (I do not think it has anything to do with your modem unless it still doesn't work with the prior firmware that was working)...
