So, I have the GT-BE98 Pro I pay COX for 2gig. QOS is off AI is off. i had an old Nighthawk RE-300 before my ping has gone from 6-9 to 18-21 and speeds dropped to 1.3 to 1.6 mbps. I have tried different internet cables. The speed test on the app says the speeds are fine but cloudfare speed test and the ookla speedtest say no.
Cox was out here to fix my, as they call it roommate plan, my wife and kids have their own internet connection for all of their devices and TV's. Cox was out here to fix their internet is about when this started, they claim it should not affect mine, but who knows.
They want to pin it on the Arris Surfboard s34 modem I bought in Noc 24 because it is not THEIR equipment but are not 100% and want to send a tech out but all this started when Cox was out here to fix the other line. The test signals all show good. I have had multiple problems with cox over the years and stretches with no problems. Century Link doesn't even offer anything over 100mbps DSL in my area of Vegas, no Fios or ATT Fiber or Verizon Fiber. here yet they are building it all in the rich areas of Vegas.
Does anyone have any suggestions, I did try different Cat 6a and 7 cables. I Dunno if it is the router or the modem, I could hook up the old router, I guess.

Delete the clone and return the MAC to the RE-300. The clone button typically takes the MAC of a LAN device. In your case you'd want to clone the RE-300 MAC since it is performing normally. The DHCP lease may be tied to the RE-300 or your BE98 which is why you immediately lost service.

Do you have a PC with 2.5 Gbps Ethernet (or higher)? I suggest connecting it or a Mac with similar directly to the yellow port on the S34 and running a speed test.
If you find you are not getting the advertised speed direct to the modem then something is wrong with the modem or ISP side connection.

Yes, it is plugged into the yellow 2.5. I plugged back in my old nighthawk RS-300 and it tested to 2gbps and a ping of 7 when I run a speed test on the ROG it runs at I have it plugged into the 10G port on the router.

I wasn't sure if you still had the RS300. May we check if it is the router mode in the firmware causing an issue by using the RS300 as router and changing the GT-BE98 Pro to Access Point mode?

I would but I did the Mac clone in the WAN now I have no internet as suggested by another post. My Ethernet adapters and mic card are missing from my device manager now even after a factory reset.

So the excellent news (sarcasm) is even) after on lunch and a full reset and downloading of the drivers for my Realtek nic card I have zero access to the internet except on my hotspot from my phone via WiFi after doing the Mac clone. The light on both routers shows no internet. The nic card is gone from my device manager.

The link below is to the other thread. In that case, it appears they were going directly to a computer. Any chance you could enter the MAC address of the Router?
I put a random MAC address in my system and clicked Apply, nothing changed. I still had a good connection. Possibly, my system does not need that address, so it wasn't looking for one.
