Hi, I have an ASUS RT-AC5300 router and a couple of other ASUS routers (RT-AC88, RT-AC-68 via Ethernet) in AiMesh. About three to four times a month the entire network goes down. Simply powering the RT-AC5300 off and then on again restores the network to normal operation. All router firmware are up to the latest rev level for those devices.
Does anyone have any idea where I can start looking to troubleshoot this problem?
Thank you!

I can say from experience with cable modem (over here in Southern California at least,) that the modem lights are either (misunderstood by me), and/or, (probably both,) unreliable.
I do recall a time a while back now that I had trouble with LAN going down. I first called ASUS as my router was new(ish), if not new still quite new. ASUS asked me to adjust some settings, which I obliged, and eventually they asked me to call my ISP. Same digging, then schedule a tech visit. Tech comes, looks at my super router, and proceeds to run a new line from telephone pole to house entry point…
Bottom line, I don’t trust the modem lights, and my initial suspect is the ISP side, which ASUS routers tend to be sensitive.
I don’t suppose you’ve asked Xfinity?

What type of internet service, coax/cable, fiber, etc? Which ISP? Locale/Country? Is it periodic or random? (Oops title says periodic)…

Hi and thanks. ISP is Comcast Xfinity and it is over copper/coaxial cable to the modem. Northern Virginia. I probably should have been clearer in my explanation of the symptoms because the interruptions to my network are probably internal to my own network because the Modem lights are showing normal operation as far as the ISP-side of things. The network crashes are probably "random in nature" but they happen three to four times a month.

I haven't called Xfinity yet but will do so shortly.
