RT-AX57 : 5ghz is visible to laptops but not on phones(s23 ultra and iphone 16 pro max)

Hello, I recently bought a Asus RT-AX57 router and after i set it up with separate ssid, my laptop can see and connect to the 5ghz and 2.4ghz signal but my phone(s23 ultra) cannot see or connect to the 5ghz, only the 2.4ghz is visible to the phone.
I tested this with both the S23 Ultra and an iPhone 16 Pro Max and other phones, and neither device could see the 5GHz signal. However, multiple laptops I tested were able to detect and connect to both networks without any issues.

I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions on how to fix this. Thanks in Advance.

To me, it seems phones connect a little differently than computers.  They seem to have their own rules regarding when and how they connect.  Try moving the phones around your house and giving them a few minutes to change radios.

Also, try turning them in different directions to maximize the signal.

If you have both radios on the same SSID, you might try using separate SSIDs.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro, and it seems to connect to both the 5 GHz and 6 GHz radios on my router.  I just picked mine up moved it to another room, and it switched from the 6 GHz to the 5 GHz.

I am not using repeater, i had one so i wanted to see if the 5ghz is visible to them also. only signal visible to everything except laptops is 2.4ghz

Is it on the latest/updated firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_53266 ?

i tried the stock one(ends with 44) and the new one (ends with 66), issue still exists for both unfortunately.
Previously I used another router(diff manf) the both bands worked out of the box. I can't figure out where's the issue in this case!!

At least for the iPhone a similar problem was reported on the Apple Forum here, (on iOS 18.2, current is 18.5 but not sure if that's the solution for iPhone):

A couple of settings you could try adjusting:

WPA-  You may try switching between WPA2/WPA3 to straight WPA3, or plain WPA2 (Personal)

OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO-  Can try Disable completely, if resolved try the others.

Still not solved, tried all the possible solution available online and suggested by you guys. I believe this is an asus router issue,?? i mean i also have another asus router i use in my hostel also has the same issue..
havenot seen this is any other router!!

Really sorry to read this.  For 6 GHz there are "Preferred Scanning Channels" (PSC) but there isn't for 5 GHz.  So what was the router you used before this?  This may be resolved by forgetting the SSID/network and then re-adding it to the phones, if you haven't tried this already?

TP link router.
Yes, I tried that too, I even tried a band new phone. Unfortunately, no luck
