I don't have that router, but mine did not initially allow 10 GB WAN port to function.

Why do you think the VLAN is required to connect to your ISP, which is what?

IPTV, something I do not have, is separate from normal operations.  Does the router work normally if IPTV is not involved?

This is how my isp work, PPPop with username and password,  and then in IPTV section i have to put a number,  but only works on 10g port. 2.5 wan port disable IPTV.

If Ieft IPTV default internet not working

500 euros for a router and can't do 2.5 IPTV.

Its strange and asus suport is not helping

Seems like a bug, which is unfortunate...

I have tried everythink, folow the manual step by step by step and nothing port 2.5 as wan not working.

Anybody with this router,  do u have problem with 2.5 wan port?

I think i am going insane and i refuse to belive that a 500 euro router dosen't support 2.5 wan with IPTV active.

Saltgrass and I both have the GT-BE98 Pro.  Also PPPoE is not common, or at least we do not have this nor VID/IPTV requirement.

In italy its common, put the wan cable in , set  pppop and a number in iptv and done in ln theory but no , why the 10g work and 2.5 no?

In the router manual say iti posible . I am the only one with this router in the world? Lol

No you're definitely not the only one.  This forum seems to have lower amount of users from other countries.  I have had experience using PPPoE back when telephone dial-up then aDSL, but companies started using MAC address to recognize users.

There is another name which is GT-BE98.  It does not help when two model names are basically the same router.  (Another example is ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro and ZenWiFi BE30000.  BQ16 Pro is sold as 1 piece, or 2 piece, but BE30000 is sold exclusively at Best Buy as 3 piece).  Eventually I see the SHA of the firmware is different, but the routers accept firmware from each other.  (Very confusing to wonder if it is the same the GT-BE98 and the GT-BE19000.  Soon there is a GT-BE19000Ai)...

Have you ever checked your router logs after you make the change to the 2.5 G port?  If you decide to try, keep close track of the actual times certain things happen.

Is there any chance the IPTV provider is seeing a change in your configuration and stopping the service?  I found out my streaming accounts were watching my router and when I was switching routers around, they started asking me to confirm my location.

Does the IPTV operation use a VPN connection?  If it does, perhaps that might need to be modified.

When the router first came out, there were several folks looking for solutions for IPTV and a VLAN situation was involved.
