So is this router defective? Wifi issues on a 600 dollar device is nuts, I want a working router.

What is everything doing?

I have two triband routers, and wifi issues nonstop nothing solves it.
Has anyone RMA'ed their mesh routers? AX11000?

I run mine on a beta - 57321 and have no problems

where did you get the beta?

I got it from here I'm sure but 57321 isn't available?
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zbP67c9LM-je_w3PEc36ybc_VFddJPPe
Latest there is 57317......

If you want 57321 just PM me and I'll send it to you.
Also have versions 43576 & 45652

I haven't tried 3.0.0.4.386.49599 yet
One of the beta's crashed for me but not sure which version it was or whether I still have a copy?
But for me 57321 is very stable.

Hello folks,
I would not recommend this firmware version:
- extending guest networks via AI Mesh (2x device GT-AX11000 with this firmware) node fails (see also forum https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?130205-Guest-Network-Problems-on-GT-AX11000-AiMesh-Network) 😞

- main wireless network is not stable anymore

- Wireless Tri-band smart connect, is not as smart as it was, recent devices are more on 2.4Ghz band instead of 5Ghz

- log spamming of this

(Search the forums for this, found a lot of hits, but no clear explanation for it ...)
And some devices with those mac adresses are not able to connect anymore wireless 😞

FYI
I ran 1.5 years firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_6438-g901ff3c, without having to do any reboot, super stable network, extremely fast (1GB internet connection wired).
Because I wanted to add an AI Mesh node, I had to do a firmware upgrade, both devices to the latest version seemed the best idea ... however, resulting in a lot of problems.

Buying Asus' best router but apparently they are not able to provide something that just works while many other brands and models can't do without any problems and what they promised since firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41700 (2021/01/18) ...
Really unfortunate and shameful ...

If someone has ideas to some fixed, always welcome!

hoping for a new firmware version soon
Kind regards

If anyone come back to this:

The biggest mistake i made here is flashing a new firmware to the device and not resetting the device.
I some case (minor version upgrade) it will work correctly i supposed, but in my case it causes a lot of troubles.
It's always the best to do a reset (backup your settings) by this procedure
https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1039078/
And put everything back in manually (even restoring a configuration backup can cause problems)

When factory resetting, all my problem's went gone, except the guest networking on node was still not working.
Because i'm using an ehternet backhaul with a managed switch between, i needed to configure my VLAN id's (501, 502 and 503) on the switch
More information about that can be found in this post:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?130205-Guest-Network-Problems-on-GT-AX11000-AiMesh-Network...

So guestnetworks are working fine on this firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49599 or also on the previous one (3.0.0.4.386.46065).

However, I was able to find this by chance (VLAND ids 501, 502 and 503), so I wonder if there are any other ID’s I need to add, to function all guestnetworks (or other router-node functionality) correctly?
Does anyone know more about this or where i can find this information?

Another question:
Does anyone know how to change the led (Asus logo) behaviour on the AI Mesh node?
It's seems you can only put it off or on, but not choose for example for "rainbow"
Is there a way to change this on the AI Mesh node? (it's only available for the router, not for the node)

I remember reading somewhere that you cannot change the behavior if the router is a node.

A couple of days ago, I was having a problem getting an AX11000 to be an Ai Node for an AXE16000. I had also tried an AX92U with the same results (backhaul problem). I discovered the original problem when I got a free trial of Hulu and kept getting messages about it not being able to download properly.

During multiple attempts, the AX11000 got another firmware update, 3.0.0.4.386_49599 as the OP shows, and the problems cleared up. I got the update late because the AX11000 had not been in use.

Both of my routers have been very stable.
Maximus Z790 Hero,
Intel i9-13900k
Intel AX411

Does anybody know if guest networks are working in AI Mesh (2 GT-AX11000: Router & Node) with a previous firmware version?

For example version 3.0.0.4.386.46065
Information says: "Fixed AiMesh guest network issues." ...

... But does it?
