I am scratching my head on this one maybe you all can help.  It seems that every time i have to reboot the router it seems that i have to do a ipconfig release and renew to get internet back on my pc.  It is wired.  I have never had this issue with the netgear router i had previously.  This is my first asus router and am wondering if there is a setting or something that i am missing.

Have you configured any devices/PC to use a set IP?

Have you configured DHCP?

DHCP is configured i have a few storage devices uses a static ip but thats below the scope.

Check the fixed IP devices IP's.

Maybe also give the PC a fixed IP see how that goes?

Possible limit your DHCP range to exclude the fixed IP's?

the fixed ip addresses are below the scope.  I mean i could try doing a static but thats a bandaid.... im just curious as to why thats happening

Sounds like possible IP conflicts.

What does 'below the scope' mean?

IP's of the fixed?

DHCP range?

My scope is 50.200 the statics are in the 50.190 range

Ok

So like DHCP is 192.168.50.1 - 192.168.50.200?

And statics are 192.168.50.190/200?

Your Statics are also in the DHCP range.

Change your DHCP range

192.168.50.1 - 192.168.50.189

My range is 192.168.50.200 to 250 my statics are 190 to 199

Ok

That seems fine.

Check PC is configured to use DHCP.
