ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 - Packet Loss/Packet Burst in games - I need help/suggestions

Hello all,

I have been experiencing REALLY bad Packet Loss, Packet Burst and Ping Spikes in video games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty. This has been going on for a couple of months now and it's really starting to get on my nerves as I am an avid player. It happens both on my PlayStation 5 and my Gaming PC. I have a GT-AX11000 and a good ISP package, I think the package I pay for is 1,000 Mbps up and 50 Mbps down. I've tried multiple things, obviously restarting my modem and my router, trying different Ethernet cables and Ethernet ports, resetting network settings on my PS5 and PC, resetting my AX11000 router, enabling Gear Accelerator/Game Device Prioritizing, disabling Gear Accelerator/Game Device Prioritizing, port forwarding certain UDPs/TCPs for certain services, enabling QoS, disabling QoS, trying different DNS Settings... nothing has really helped, and at this point I'm very very stumped. All of my technology is top notch for a consumer, everything is up to date when it comes to software and patches, yet I'm still having problems while online gaming. If anyone else has had similar problems and would like to share solutions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Any help, comments or ideas would be wonderful.

The problem may not be you.  The problem could be your ISP, or a backbone connection somewhere.   Playing arm chair quarterback the problem could be congestion.  As you say Ping Spikes and Packet Loss.  This resembles congestion on "someones" network.   If you can try plugging directly into your modem.  Play for a while, and try to repeat the symptoms.  This will help eliminate your equipment.   But to your other question.  Yes, I experience this as well..  This is intermittent for me.  and I have not been able to isolate where the problem is.  I have isolated the problem to be outside of my network.

I don’t know if fiber internet is available, and if it is at a tolerable cost, but as noted it may be worthwhile to research a different ISP.
