Question on ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 PRO mesh compatible options

Evening all (well, its evening here).

Looking to purchase the GT-BE98 Pro.  I've got a 5000 sq/foot house, with additional "things" requiring internet outside the house even further in most directions.  I assume the GT-BE98 Pro is mesh compatible, so what would be the best options to extend the reach?  Speed doesn't matter wirelessly, as I'm wired for everything that actually needs speed (computers).  The stuff around the property that needs connection just needs connection, and most is 2.4ghz.

Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

My BE98 Pro is AP mode with AiMesh:  AXE16000, RT-AX86U, RP-AX58, RP-AX56, and RT-AC68U.

The only nodes I'd advise to avoid are the RP-AX56 (which has no clients right now) and RT-AC68U (which is EOL)...

I appreciate the answer.  So if I get one GT-BE98 and three RT-AX86U's, I should be all set.  Put the GT-BE98 is AP mode, and I'm golden, if I understand your answer correctly.

While you are doing that, you might think about getting some software that would allow you to map your Wi-Fi signal strength.

I don't put my primary router in AP mode, just some of the distant routers that act like mesh nodes.

I have AP mode set because AT&T enforces use of their residential gateway, but I wouldn't imagine any issues with router mode with AiMesh as @Saltgrass kindly confirms.
