I have a GT-BE98 Pro router that I was using as a mesh router in a mesh system. I then have a RT-BE96U that I was using as a mesh node. About 2 weeks ago an update was release for the RT-BE96U that messed up my network because it updated that router automatically. It said that the update included a mesh architecture update and it was discouraged to downgrade it. No firmware update has been released for the GT-BE98 Pro since May of this year. I now can't get the BE96U to connect anymore as a node. I also cant get it to downgrade to any of the previous firmware versions. Has anyone else had this problem. Does anyone have any ideas to fix it? I think that an architecture update is needed for the BE98 Pro to make the mesh network work again.

You may be correct regarding needing new firmware for the 98 Pro. Since they combined the network and network Pro sections, there is a fundamental difference between the two.
Is there another configuration you could use for the time being? Maybe using it as an Access Point?

I was told a little over a week ago "in a couple of weeks" new firmware will be released for the BE98 Pro. I was also given the heads up that it will be more a security update, vs WiFi update. Um, have you tried removing the BE96U as a mesh node and setting it as an Access Point?

A new 98 Pro firmware is available, 37031, and it seems to have removed the Guest Network Pro tab. It may now match the BE96U.
