Just setup new GT BE98 Pro - Problems with Multiple Consoles

Hello!

I just purchased and set up a brand new Asus GT BE98 Pro Router coming from a 7 year old Netgear. At first i was AMAZED at the higher speeds i was seeing in various tests... lower latency and ping on my Xbox Series X console and even phone over wi-fi.

In the router i turned on Adaptive QoS, and turned Port Forwarding on under the Open NAT tab.

Unfortunately just today i started having connection issues and couldn't figure out what was going on... i could load into a match of Call of Duty Warzone but the second i hit the ground my game would freeze. Tried restarting match and it kept happening over and over.

Backed out and started looking through all the settings and realized that my Xbox is showing port 54500 instead of 3074. Maybe this is normal? I tried googling it and not seeing an answer detailing that port as being normal.

Booted up my wife's Xbox and tried a Warzone match and was able to play just fine. Checked her Xbox Network settings and hers was showing port 3074.

I experimented with rebooting the Xboxes, turning off QoS on the router, and turning off the port forwarding feature under that tab in the router but kept having problems with one or the other Xbox.

Now mine is working fine and showing port 3074 but hers is now the 54500 and she cant connect to the online Server at MS/Activision... i tried setting her xbox to a static IP but the xbox says it cannot use a static IP when it tests the network connection. The xbox has an "alternate port selection" section to click into showing either automatic or manual. If i click on manual it wont let me actually enter my own port i have to choose from a list which is - 54500, 50856, 53130, 54500, 55404, 56774

After resetting both our consoles and messing with settings repeatedly one still shows port 3074 and the other 54500 but now they can both play online matches. What is going on? I've never had a router give me this much grief before... we are a family of gamers and have always had 4 or more consoles actively playing in the house at the same time.

New gaming router - can't game together. We would like to start the new Diablo 4 expansion but if we can't connect to a game to play together then we need this figured out ASAP.

We game on Xbox, Playstation, Phones and Tablets.

How do i fix this so it isn't an issue now or in the future?

I specifically bought this router because it is supposed to be a gaming focused router.

QoS is defaulted off.  It does not work well.  Please lease it off.  Port forwarding is something I do not have any experience with, but I am not aware it causes any speed issues.  If you put back the old Netgear temporarily it does not exhibit this issue?

Naw I was having laggy/connection issues with my prior modem and router that's why i replaced them. Different from the problems i experienced with the new router this weekend though.

I already factory reset the old router and modem and put them back in their product boxes.

The xboxes seem to be working fine now after i messed with settings and rebooted them repeatedly and turned QoS and Port Forwarding back off on the BE98 Pro.

Hopefully Asus can sort whatever issue(s) this is and correct with a future update.

I just finished hard wiring the rest of my console/pc/voip phone downstairs and everything seems to be working great so i'm just going to leave everything as-is and hope it doesn't break haha

Not going to say this problem is "solved" right now but at least it is functional for the time being.
